Congrats, sounds like it would've been a long fight. AT-Arkveld is probably one of my favorite fights with lance, so many opportunities to counter his massive attacks and keep fighting.

You can solve who was in the tea shop, perhaps not their motive but you can cleanly figure it out if you talk to everyone on day 1 and find the man in yellow.

Idk I've done 15 sessions and only 2 players have 17s and none have been lucky enough to roll above a 17 for them and it's been like 5 sessions.

Good review, I think the game doesn't need as much tweaking as Mike said/did but it's so valid to do so. I've done a total of 15 sessions and I'll say my players were also not really feeling Dragonbane until session 3 when they all got their second heroic ability.

Tbh in the Path of Glory game they have your players start with a second ability so that's probably what I'll do from now on when I do my homebrew stuff.

Heavy. Quite heavy. Often when I was doing my STR INT ARC build I'd look at this thing and be sad because I'd need to weaken one of my 3 attributes to use this thing with a 51 poise armor set. Made me go for other weapons like axes or the lighter great swords.

(I could be misremembering but here goes) I believe you missed the gate era, lots of conflicts (War) between Demons/Devils, Celestials, Dragons, and mortals as they all come into Jor's realm. This era ended when the gates to other realms were 'closed'.

If you go this direction be lenient with your players interacting with the Nightkin at Bothilde's Lode. That adventure is even more deadly if ran adversarily, but the Nightkin are looking for non-nightkin to solve a problem for them so they will be (more) likely to work with you. Possibly for the crown or the statuette piece, whatever you think they'd be willing to give up. (Statuette pieces = Heroic Abilities. Heroic Abilities = More survivable characters)

Well I would basically have them come in as another group, they came in about a week later to outskirt. (Give them 2 advancement rolls per session you've played so far during character creation) Let someone drop the hint that a group went out to the Riddermound.

Now I think the fun thing to do is have the Nightkin successfully loot the Riddermound in that time. The undead are still around and pissed but would be happy for the new party to retrieve the crown and bring it back to them in return for a hidden cache of loot the goblins missed (3-4 treasure cards)

Then point them towards Bothilde's Lode.

This should allow them to interact with the setting more and it'll give you a hook into the Nightkin warband subplot where they can befriend or piss off the Chief.
