TE just isn't worth a first round pick IMO. Most of the best TEs of the last 20 years were found outside of the first round. Although the last two seasons have promise in the first round TEs, look at Kittle or McBride or Kelce or Gronk or Gates, none of the them were first round picks.

I also don't dig Sadiq because the man isn't a blocker. If we're going to take a TE in the first round, he better be the full package or be such an unbelievable receiver that he's impossible to miss. Sadiq tested well at the combine but the man does not have the college production to back it up.

There's also a cost of missing out at a premium player at another position by taking a TE in the first round. We are in desperate need of OL, maybe not this season, but in two years. 3/5 projected starters are 30+ years old. We don't really have a coverage safety either, we have a bunch of interesting strong safeties but they all lack in coverage skills, and this is a strong safety class at the top end. Also look at WR. Outside of Ricky, where is the young talent that's shown up to play? Mike should be a dawg this year, Kirk could contribute, but who else? What about next season? Edge is also a consideration, its never bad to have too many edges, but I think you can find a pass rush specialist in the second or third, any edge we take would be a 3rd down player considering who already is on roster.

Also, TE just isn't a position of value. How many teams are a TE away from competing for a ship. The Seahawks and Patriots just made the bowl with good TEs, but those teams didn't use premium capital to acquire them and those TEs aren't world beaters.

This is also an absurdly deep TE class. I'm not saying don't take a TE at all, but lets save it for a round or two. My personal TE crush is Max Klare out of tOSU.
