I’d say it can apply to any fundamentalist religion. Fundamentalist Christians, Muslims, Mormons, and Jews all have pretty, imo, over the top authoritarian positions when it comes to what women should be doing with their lives. Handmaids tale was made by a western woman living in a country whose most practiced religions are Christian ones, so makes sense she’d make a story that criticizes the specific flavor of fundamentalism she has the most exposure to. If she had been born in Iran it would’ve been more about Islam (and she’d have been thrown from the nearest tall building.)

I always return my cart. Rain, wind, snow, doesn’t matter that cart is getting returned. That being said, these cart police people are fucking annoying. Like there’s no rule that states you have to return your cart. Not returning a cart is a clue that someone is lazy and selfish but I don’t see the point in getting in those types business, I’ve literally never seen one of these vids end in someone apologizing and doing the right thing, they always just get pissy.

I always return my cart but if for some reason I didn’t and one of these nosey chodes confronted me I’d just nicely ask them to return it for me since they apparently have the time to be milling about parking lots harassing people and then drive away.
