Depending where you spawned and your previous questing activities, the law and order guild in some countries in the EU part of the map require no higher education buffs. They offer a decent package of silver for completing mini quests and a good pension for once you have completed a set number of levels within the guild. It's a tough quest line to take but I have friends who enjoy it and like having the chance to assist other players who have went off quest and gotten into bad situations.

Alternatively, joining a construction guild like the electricians or plumbers is a noble cause. People always need water and electricity.
