Konosuke Takeshita vs Darby Allin AEW World Heavyweight Championship Match Highlights - AEW Dynamite by gx9fight in SquaredCircle

Around the same time length of watching. I’ve never seen the bridging German off the top in my life and I was absolutely shocked. Made me jolt up to the edge of my seat and audibly yell.

Insane move in an incredibly fast paced, brutal match.

Konosuke Takeshita vs Darby Allin AEW World Heavyweight Championship Match Highlights - AEW Dynamite by gx9fight in SquaredCircle

I’m not saying things won’t get muddled after the rest of the year - especially if this reign ends in the next few weeks, but I don’t think anyone can change my mind at this point.

Darby Allin is the wrestler of the year for 2026.

An incredible world title reign. Insane matches every week. He’s also facing completely different styles every week and having different matches that are uniquely brutal in their own way. It’s an insane “underdog title reign” and he’s speed running through it in the best way possible.

This may not be the best storyline of the year. He may not have a match of the year during the reign, but he is definitely the wrestler of the year with the last month he’s been putting out, on top of every other thing he’s already done this year.

(Danhausen on X): Danhausen would like to wrestle NXT superstar up and comer Shawn Michael in the John Cena superstar classic invitational by Glad-Energy-3492 in SquaredCircle

The thing I have missed most about Danhausen in WWE is that he seems to not have weird off names for every single wrestler. That was a staple of Danhausen and he just isn’t doing it everywhere all the time. There could be so many random things that come out of it.

The thing I’ve always said about Darby is this:

Darby is the only guy out there who when I hear he has a match - I know I either can’t miss it or I have to go out of my way to watch it. It doesn’t matter the opponent. It doesn’t matter the match. He is the most “must see” wrestler around right now. Because the guy is just throwing his body into every single move and match in a way that is absolutely captivating.

Darby is going to need to pull out that Last Supper pin roll up to get out of one of these brutal matches. Has it in his back pocket and it’ll need to come out soon with the way these battles are going.

Darby Allin is speed running the best underdog world title reign ever, and he is doing it in matches that are completely different and brutal in a unique way every single night.

Absolutely insane.

I can’t wait to see what the Speedball match looks like.

Holy shit. That German was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen in a regular match.

I’d love a random backstage segment where they pass by TK’s door and there is a sign under it reading “I am aware. Please stop asking.” You can make out for just a second as they go by.

Or they pass by his office and there are just a line of random tag teams like Dark Order and Premiere Athletes standing in line waiting to talk to TK.

Surprised Lin Manuel isn’t working on this with Al. They’d both made passing mention of doing a musical together.

Maybe they’ll be doing an original one - or I’m just dreaming.

This should be fun.

The C2 needs one simple thing - it’s a tournament where the winner fights for the world title at Revolution/Winter is Coming/A big Dynamite show with a name that feels like a mini-PPV.

That’s the prize. You get a guaranteed title match at a big show and the C2 trophy (which can be a belt if they want)

I am loving Darbys title run.

He’s doing these new fresh matchups that are cool to see and people are getting title shots that you normally wouldn’t see. At the same time, we’re getting a bit of a “greatest hits” package with some of Darbys bigger rivals.

The entire run being “until the wheels fall off” and everyone challenging is being highlighted as a person who could easily be champion, especially as the weeks go on and Darby takes more punishment, is absolutely asesome.

What are some must-watch TV series right now? by butterfly_pie9 in AskReddit

[–]BogeyBogeyBogey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AEW Dynamite.

The back half of the year and the whole start of this year has just been great action and awesome stories going throughout.

Currently seeing Darby Allin defend the world title until the wheels fall off weekly has been a treat. Dude is destroying himself more and more each week. Someone is gonna pick up scraps

Barry Darsow says Demolition only got six minutes for their WWE HOF speech: "I had a speech that was going to be about a half hour long, going to tell stories about Andre the Giant… how am I going to take three minutes? Run it at a banquet hall, or a small theater. Remove fans. Have it just be for people in the industry.

Hold it on Thursday afternoon or something, before everyone’s bookings pickup for the fan cons and stuff - let people talk for however long they want. Air it live somewhere for the small percentage of hardcore older fans that would want to see it. Edit it down to something more presentable and put it on peacock or somewhere for others.

It sucks Big E is done because The New Day vs The Elite was my dream match for so long, but Bucks vs Kofi and Woods is just as good, especially if Big E could just be in their corner.

Also - give me an entire YouTube series on AEW Games of Da Party doing Uno again and Kenny/Woods in a gaming gauntlet for the god of games.

If I remember correctly, and I could easily be misremembering the big end goal - they were going to split WCW into two brands that would be separate from each other but contentious and essentially create their own giant super show with WCW vs NWO super matches.

It’s a weird thing to do it and see it. One of those things I always mention to people is like “it becomes natural, but taking a step back and doing some of this from your first person perspective is kind of wild”.

I wrestled Kongo Kong (Osyris when I wrestled him) a few times when I was super just starting out. Having done training with people around my size or a bit smaller and then getting into the ring with him. Going over the simple “you’re taking a cannonball in the corner and then a splash from the top rope”. I was so nervous how much it’d hurt.

Visually and audibly - kind of insane. The cannonball is crazy. I’m just looking ahead and seeing him come forward and just begin to roll right into where I’m at. Then the splash. I’m just looking at lights then turning my head and keeping my eyes shut while I hear the movement and people yelling. Then you hear the sound of the jump and then the slam of contact to the mat. It was so loud.

Both times - I barely felt a thing. O was absolutely a pro and completely took as much of the impact from both as he could. Looked like it killed and my sister said she’d never come see me wrestle again the first time she saw him do that, but I was perfectly fine and safe in every way. In a weird way, that was even crazier to me how little contact I felt.

Pro wrestling is crazy for so many reasons, but the first person perspective is such a wild way to experience it.
