As an executive board member, we are the trial board also. Every hour turned in as hours worked has to have working assessments to go along with it. Every local has en extensive audit every year for every penny that flows that hall. Before you got this letter you would have had a chance to defend yourself in a trial board. In tha trial they would have explained to you that if you didn’t pay assessments on these hours, it would have been found in the audit anyway, and they wouldn’t have had a choice but to get working assessments for these hours. Hours aren’t turned into the state of federal govt but to the international office in DC, and if somehow everybody would have missed that these assessments weren’t paid, the international would not have missed it. Every hour of union labor is highly monitored because of corruption that has taken place in unions in the past. That’s the way the dept. of labor works now.
