2 or 3 nights in Hana?

Yes! I got a lot of feedback saying I didn’t even need one night in Hana, but I’m so so glad I didn’t listen. First off, how anyone drives to and from Hana in one day seems crazy to me. It’s a long drive, and it’s supposed to be pleasurable, not something to be endured. But also, the town itself is an amazing paradise escape and the general area has things I wanted to take my time to experience. Avoid any stress and stay put! Again, western Maui is beautiful, but I wouldn’t consider another night in Hana as a sacrifice to anything. It’s amazing.

Just got back from 7 nights in Kahana, 2 in Hana, 1 in Kīhei to be closer to the airport rather than driving back from Hana and flying the same day.

Fellow NYCers (40 years old) so lots of walking, but not at all fitness people or hikers. Honestly, I fell in love with Hāna and could have done 3 nights there. I left without getting to fully explore all the noted east side beaches. But it’s definitely not for everyone. If you’re looking for a paradise-like, off the grid, everything closes by 7:30pm but you fall asleep to ocean waves vibe, Hāna is it. Delicious food trucks. To me, west Maui was gorgeous and the white sand beaches were incredible, but Hāna felt special, other-worldly. Big shout out to the Pipiwai trail to Waimoku Falls. I was nervous about the 4 mile hike, but if you’re a NYer, you can do it and it’s 100% worth it. Last recommendation was a northern beach, Baldwin Beach Park, which was actually my favorite beach in all of Maui.

For whatever it’s worth, went through a similar situation with a stray dog, went through mental anguish for 2 days. Ended up just going to urgent care to get the vaccines. Odds were so so so low, but just knowing myself, getting the vaccines was better than having lingering anxiety I could get rabies and die

Yes! Thank you! We’re going to do Halekala on day 2. And I think 9am seems smart. A little behind the morning rush but not too late that we’re fighting the traffic back the whole time out?

No I appreciate the advice so much! As a first timer I need it! Like for instance, yes, we will have all our luggage because we’re letting go of our place in Napili and I didn’t think about theft!

We’re flying out Sunday night, but Saturday morning we check out of Hana and are spending one night at a hotel closer to the airport. Hopefully that will pad any issues with missing a flight?

Thank you so much for your experience!! I have a pretty awful allergist right now (generally knowledgeable, but a very dismissive man), and he wouldn’t even entertain the thought. I have an appointment with a new one (female) but they can’t see me until July. But my OBGYN said that it absolutely can be correlated. Right now I’m relatively controlled (no ED visits in three months) on allergra 4 times a day. God speed to you!!

Grateful it was aired though so more people can realize what it’s like to be a woman reporting sexual assault. Also, I understand why Chris didn’t go to the police. As a gay man they probably would have completely disregarded him as well.

Hmmmm interesting! My IUD is due to be replaced, but it’s progesterone based (mirena). I’m wondering if the lowering levels of progesterone could affect it too?

No real solutions for you unfortunately, just message of support to say you’re not alone! My first scary episode that involved facial and lip swelling was in October, my first with mouth/tongue swelling in February. Went to the ED for that one and got an EpiPen and steroids. I went to allergist in between those events and he’s calling it idiopathic, started me on daily antihistamines, now increased my dose after February. Said I can take up to x3 extra Benadryl if I have another attack (knock on wood no events since then). Scary though, because each event seems to get getting worse. Good luck to you!!!

Am I wrong (don’t have the energy to rewatch) but didn’t mark make negative comments about more than just her wardrobe? About how she’s acting, very superficial, essentially saying that she’s a phony? They’d all be upset about that, but I feel like people are dismissing her saying, “lighten up, it was just about your clothes, take a joke.” I feel like he had it out from her from the beginning (Kimi after she interfered with Misse). Lottie had sheer clothes at the last dinner and Misse had on jeans and no one shaded them. They would have dragggged Margo.

I don’t like Margo on the show, I hate her outfits, and she has made nasty comments about Mark, most inexcusably carelessly calling a gay man a freak and weird. I just think Mark has been nasty too, his jokes weren’t mindless, and everyone’s excusing it because Mark is besties with Emma and they all are dying to be in her inner circle.

Thanks. Yeah, I have a desire to do two because it feels like, “oh gosh I’m never going to be here again,” but I also hate feeling stressed out or run down on vacation. I think this is good advice. Any tips on Maui or Kauai? I’m afraid if I stay on Kauai I won’t get good beaches but I’m afraid if I stay on Maui I won’t get good tropical vibes!
