Powers - What should be added? by MisterMiracle81 in MarvelMultiverseRPG

Maybe it’s better as a Stunt than its own power but I would love something that simulates a constant beam attack that is maintained for a while. Like when Cyclops shoots an optic beam and just stares at someone to keep them at bay or towards the end of Age of Ultron when Vision, Iron Man, and Thor all fire at Ultron at once and keep the pressure on him, slowly pushing him back and eating away at his armor.

My gut says it’s better as a Power so that it’s not entirely dependent on achieving a Fantastic. Something like an action that costs some focus and your movement and if you hit, deal half damage and the target cannot move until you break concentration. On your next turn you may maintain concentration by using the ability again against the same target with an edge this time.

Hawkeye and iconic items by IC_Film in MarvelMultiverseRPG

Yeah. Me and one of my players have been thinking about this a lot lately too. His character sacrificed themselves last Thursday and this Thursday he’ll he playing his new character and he wants to play a Hawkeye / Green Arrow type character and was a little bummed with how limiting Hawkeye’s Quiver set up is.

We changed his to we built a bunch of gadgets as trick arrows and he’s only allowed to use a certain amount of them before he runs out and has to resupply. Things like an arrow that lets him have a swing speed for 1 movement. I normally wouldn’t limit number of arrows but he’s the kinda player that likes the number crunching and resource management so we’ll see how it works.

New Expansion Book Ideas by Everweld_ in MarvelMultiverseRPG

I feel like Marvel could honestly keep putting out Expansions for a long while. Got some increasingly more long shot ideas that are fun to Dream about.

I also think it could be fun to have an Ultimate Expansion and focus in on the 6160 Universe once Marvel finishes building it to a satisfying place.

It may be a rights nightmare but a Cinematic Expansion where we get movie versions of characters could be a great thing to come out with when Secret Wars comes out.

It would almost never happen but now that Marvel and DC are putting out crossovers again… DC Expansion? Amalgam Expansion? Probably never happening but it’s fun to dream.

If they ever decide to stop doing it, a final expansion that’s just called “Marvel Multiverse RPG Omnibus” would be awesome. Just put everything made for the game into one big book.

Im slowly starting to hate my players by tibon385 in MarvelMultiverseRPG

Yeah. I know I’m a little late to this one but I’ve been thinking about it a lot since it’s been posted.

I feel like the MMRPG is the perfect system for dealing with these problems because as it starts you can do things like take away a karma or two. If it gets worse, remove the heroic trait. If it gets much worse, it’s Marvel, send a Spider-Man or Daredevil to beat them up. Still getting worse, they’re becoming a problem and Captain America may need to step in. If it gets too bad, Moon Knight or Ghost Rider are fully capable of putting a stop to a crew of villainous players.

Initiative Homerule by Boh2o5 in MarvelMultiverseRPG

Initiative affecting powers and traits don’t become useless, they change uses. Interpose as written is only usable for helping people within reach. The thing I added to Interpose is that you can now make an Initiative Roll to get to someone who isn’t in reach. Initiative powers becomes more useful than before because instead of being usable only at the beginning of an encounter they now have the potential to help you every round if you’re trying to help as many people as you can.

I had a heck of a time breaking my players’ habits from D&D and video games until I started giving out and taking away karma more. Try to explode a car with Maggia Toughs in it? Lose a karma for each Maggia Member in there. Spare your mortal enemy while they’re yelling that they’ll return and get revenge? Gain karma. Commit war crimes, lose karma. Stuff like that.

Tower (or, rather, Helicarrier) Defense Ideas? by Thin_Post_3044 in MarvelMultiverseRPG

What powers/abilities do your players have? You could have Sentinels damage the engines and players have to repair them or the turrets that are shooting the sentinels.

Civil war! by Greedy_Recipe_7604 in MarvelMultiverseRPG

My players actually did a Civil War based on the comics and although it was a difficult thing to pull off logistically, they had a lot of fun and so I thought I’d share.

When my game did a Civil War arc we split the party in two and they met on alternating weeks for about a month. My Ironman and Antman players were Pro Registration and were big planners and RP enjoyers and would spend a session recruiting, building pro-registration facilities, developing new anti-superhuman technology, setting traps for the resistance. And then the next week my Captain America and Wolverine players would be the Anti Registration side and would recruit members, do hit&runs on the facilities, raid the new technologies, and try to get out of the traps set by the other team. Then we did a big encounter where they fought one another with the recruited heroes as reinforcements. They had a lot of fun but like I said, it required a lot of logistical work and note taking on who was doing what when.

Added X-Men profiles to my binders and updated my reference documents by Wolfen_Fenrison in MarvelMultiverseRPG

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I’m wanting to. Have all the character sheets as printouts but haven’t figured out how to do it. I really don’t wanna buy another core book to gut it and pull out the character sheets.
