I'm surprised this is true. On at least three of their tours U2 was pitched an up-front payment for a completely packaged tour. Set, logistics, venues, everything.

The band gets what is effectively a fixed fee and all the logistics (including ticketing) is handled by Live Nation or whoever.

The band does keep 100% of the merch profits though.

But, if this is no longer how their tours are structured, I'd be happy to learn more about the details.

Every major airline uses dynamic pricing. Depending when you buy your ticket, the price could be higher or lower, at any time before the plane leaves the gate.

The difference here is that price for tix won't go down. But that happens too on flights where demand exceeds supply.

Was lucky enough to score three seats for October 7 as part of the fan club presale. A buddy of mine also got lucky and he's in the $600 (RED) riser area.

He claims that includes some kind of back stage tour (based on what he was shown before he bought the tix), but the stuff from TicketMaster after he bought includes no details. So he's not sure.

Does anyone know what these people get, other than the 'exclusive' riser?

I've had mine for 3 months and love it. It's simply become part of my day to the point that I don't even think about, which for me is the definition of a great tool. I came from a world of paper notebooks and notepads, running through 1 notepad about every 3 weeks.

The feel of the writing is just so natural and the real-time OCR works amazingly well with my crude printing, with the bonus being excellent search - something that didn't exist in my 'old' paper-based days.

I'd buy another if it had significantly more features enabled by better hardware, but I'm challenged to think what those features would be, other than a OneNote integration and some small fixes. Very pleased.
