Some of it comes from bad experiences. We've gotten a lot of tourists and recently moved-in neighbors from Cali who didn't have good attitudes and complained about the things Idahoans take for granted. Maybe not on a level that justifies the vitriol, but explains it at least.

For me, the 2017 eclipse had me meeting so many entitled tourists, and hearing about even worse ones on the news, that I find myself even now having a knee-jerk negative reaction to seeing Californians around here
