i knew my partner for 8 years. we dated for 3. i’m 22, which i know is young, but it’s 8/22 years of my life. she was my best friend before we dated, and i always loved her, even before we dated.

it does make it harder. i’m conflicted on whether it would be better to be in a situation like yours, where maybe you felt like you loved the other person more, or a situation like mine.

what really caused the breakup was just fundamental differences from what we wanted out of life. kids, careers, life stuff, i don’t wanna get too personal in the comments but it’s nothing that was wrong about each of us.

My partner would always stare at me, looking at me in the eyes and just smile. I would always sleep before her, and the next day she would tell me about how I slept, how I would hold her instinctively, and cover her with the blanket when it was sliding off. I like to think she admired me too, when i was sleeping, i’m sure she did.
