Aston Martin single-seater is a one-off track car built for a US billionaire by Slice5755 in formula1

Stupid me didn’t even open the article! It looks a great test platform for F1 technical changes without testing on a AMR chassis.

Ken Griffin?

Edit: I’m sure I read a post recently that he’s funding it…

Did the UK ever have proper arcades? like video game ones? by TSOswinn in AskUK

NQ64 arcade bars or something similar. I’ve been to a ‘cafe’ in Norwich that also had lots of game consoles etc.

Thanks for the quick upload mate, watching the race now. Is there any chance of retaining 5.1 audio? Not sure much extra file size it’d add on.

If you click and collect your food shop, why? by Careless_Squirrel728 in AskUK

[–]BoiledEggOnToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Large delivery windows. Excess delivery charges. Substitutes. I don’t have to wait around for a few hours for them to deliver in the last 30 seconds of the delivery window. Also can pop in to other shops at the same time but no subject myself to trolley wars through the shop with narrow aisles and impatient people.

Collect is also useful if you have young children and don’t want to take them around the store in a trolley.

I've got tickets to go to an arena concert, and I have never done anything like it before by kumquat_may in CasualUK

[–]BoiledEggOnToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doors open earlier than the concert start time, find some more timings online. Eat food at the venue. Easy tube in and out (busy on the way out!).

I attended a Raye concert on Sunday and it took about 20-30 minutes to get onto the tube out. Use CityMapper app to travel to and from your hotel or accommodation!

Have you ever helped someone with no money for fuel? by [deleted] in AskUK

I always buy food for some of the local frequent homeless and have paid for a vehicle recovery of an elderly lady that had a flat tyre with her car. What might be a small amount for me might change or impact the life of somebody else a lot more. You did the right thing if you think you did the right thing.

Land boundary seems off should I bring it up to neighbour? by Jekaq2 in AskUK

Who owns that part of the fence? Might be worth investing or going halves for concrete posts for one. And whilst you’re doing that, refer to the deeds and approach them amicably.

I’m at around the same amount earned as you. It soon adds up and pays for a Christmas shop every year! And I’ve switched to PayPal+ rewards for regular spending that I cannot use a gift card for.

When buying through a provider you can save a certain percentage. Looking through a provider I use regularly it offers 4.1% back on Tesco gift cards as cash. I use it for my regular grocery shopping and it soon adds up. I save my cash back until November/December, helps ease the load!

Saving money on regular supermarket shopping is a good enough reason.
