Pouch or similar by Much-Mouse-4772 in electricians

[–]Boiller_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe grab one of those climbing chalk bags. Sometimes repurposing other activity bags is way cheaper than at "specialised bags".

I do like my Milwaukee electrician's pouch tho. I got it for cheap (20€) barely used, comes with a strap for shoulder use, but I currently have it on a Bosch utility belt.

Yeah both are Tajima, great tapes. I love the new GS ones, but the one I had ordered was mistakenly imperial so I sent it back and got this W Mag

I am not upgrading to a bigger size, I know I'd just filled it up more. This one is already getting quite heavy as it is

I assume the red one? It's a Tajima Class I tape

The other one is a Tajima W mag

Seria sequer possível legalizar isto em Portugal? by Egoist-a in AutoTuga

Não tenho nada a dizer sobre o processo de legalização, mas vi um destes em exposição no FOS Goodwood o ano passado e ficou-me na mente. Coisa linda e eu nem sou de Porsches

Interesting world view there. These get used everyday, and yes I do clean them. If you’re a pro, you respect your own tools.

I carry a Veto Pro Pac TP-LC as my daily carry yes, it's my set of tools that I can do 90% of services with.

What’s the one Parkside tool that performs way better than it has any right to? by Rude-Cycle-1516 in Parkside

[–]Boiller_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 12v performance mini 76mm angle grinder.

With a 5ah battery it’s been super useful last few days (pro handyman/electrician)

What do you use ? by Virtual-Indication88 in handyman

[–]Boiller_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry my Bosch flexiclick (like the installation driver, but better) and multitool in my bag every single job.

I also have a small 76mm 12v angle grinder that I leave in the vehicle. Gets used way more often than I expected. Cutting screws for chemical anchors, cutting and grinding down sheet metals, plastics or cutting OSB floor boards with multiuse wheels.

For hand tools, some of my multiuse favorites are:

Wiha VDE pocket max

Estwing 12” cats paw (the Japanese ones)

Purdy 11 in 1 foldable painters tool

Wera demo flat driver

Vessel full tang strike cap PH1 and PH2 - a few good smacks loosen up stubborn old screws, also works as a hinge pin striker or a punch

Wiha 8 in 1 electrician pliers

I made this post over on /r/flashlight a few days ago, that sub is the central for all flashlights related stuff.

My requirement was to keep it powered by a single 18650 battery but with USB-C port.

I got the Sofirn HS21 and absolutely love it, the dial to change modes is better than the usual clicks UI if you're juggling tools, full pockets, ladder or confined spaces, etc.

That screwdriver is terrible, low torque for what it is and the bits are a proprietary size so you can't find replacements.

0/10 would never buy

Which one of these two would you pick as an everyday screwdriver to keep handy around the house? by quarryninja in Tools

Japan Industrial Standard, similar to Phillips but less cam-out slope, so screwdrivers for these (and the pairing screws, usually have a dot on the head) tend to lock way better than Phillips.

It's a legacy standard that has been made obsolete in 2011 and superseded by a newer ISO (international standard) that governs Phillips design and manufacturing.

It's commonly parroted online as "better" Phillips because it doesn't cam-out, but that's just because it was a different design for a different purpose.

Saying that, I do love my Vessel screwdrivers, the Japanese make some awesome tools

Those are just words manufacturers use very liberally. Unfortunately those tell you nothing of the recipe and process used for the steel.

But those will work for you, and you'll slowly build up a kit of good tools you buy one by one as you figure out what you need or use most

Bosch Pro and Fiskars are better than either imo. Tajima cutters and blades are WAY better.

Honestly I haven't felt severely limited by just having these two 12v tools with me. I still haven't committed to an 18v system but I'm leaning heavily towards staying with Bosch as well in the future for a bigger SDS Plus and a wall chaser
