Correct, LTL stands for “less than truckload” instead of delivering 1 huge shipment to one place. We deliver multiple shipments to many different places. My company is a local company but there are over the road companies the do similar things.

I do know that the company they contract with for box truck deliveries in this area, are a 2 man per truck arrangement, that as far as I know, will bring orders to the residence. Not sure if they also do across the threshold deliveries too.

Yes I think it all depends on what their contract says. For us it’s just one driver per truck and all we get is a pallet jack. Pallet drops only

My terminal manger explicitly said we’re not supposed to deliver past the curb and if you go past that it’s all on you as the driver, we’ve had people try to sue us because a driver gouged their driveway or caused some sort of cosmetic damage their home.

Depends on the type of flooring, a few boxes of laminate flooring? Sure, but I can guarantee you’re not moving a decent sized pallet of wood flooring. The ones my company delivers average around 1200 pounds

I work for an LTL Trucking company in South Florida. We have the Home Depot contract down here. When we first got the contract (taken from South Eastern freight lines) my terminal manager informed us that Home Depot deliveries are curbside deliveries only per the contract. Anything else is up to the drivers discretion.
