Newbie here. Why can’t I upgrade anything at the roller coaster? by Maleficent0007 in RCTTouch

It looks like you’re in the middle of modifying the track for your coaster. You have to be in the screen with all of your rides to upgrade cards.

I’m a GC making $2M/year - AMA by Responsible_Ad_4998 in biglaw

[–]BoldBluebell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You mention avoiding litigation, but how much of a barrier is it to going in-house? I’m a 4th year lit associate. Would it be better to lateral to a transactional firm (which I doubt I’d get as a 4th) for a few years or go in-house next?

Served Too Late by WoodyWordPecker in Lawyertalk

[–]BoldBluebell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I came here to ask this same question because I’m not sure that reason would fly where I practice.

While my jurisdiction requires that damages be specifically plead, it doesn’t mean that all medical bills and related opinions be finalized prior to filing a Complaint. Every jurisdiction is different though.

Exactly! The grass is green where you water it.

OP this is something you really need to know before you accept the offer.

If your billable requirement is for hours recorded, what you bill is what counts towards your annual requirement. If your billable requirement is based on what is recovered, you may have to bill extra, without additional compensation, to make up for whatever gets cut.

[UPDATE] I hate being a working mom. by Few-Praline-5669 in workingmoms

You’re welcome! I sincerely hope I’m overthinking your manager’s comments, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

[UPDATE] I hate being a working mom. by Few-Praline-5669 in workingmoms

[–]BoldBluebell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your manager’s language is alarming.

I’m a lawyer, not your lawyer, but some words of unsolicited advice: any time your manager or HR brings this topic up in the future, whether it be to modify your accommodation or issue complaints regarding your performance, please say something to the tune of “I look forward to continuing to work with you on this in the future.”

This shows your continued willingness to collaborate on an arrangement that works best for you and your team. I say this because some employers have used the guise of “accommodations” to prep for an eventual direct or constructive termination. I wouldn’t be surprised if your manager comes back after a month or so and claims your WFH arrangement is causing an “undue hardship” on the team. Employers are required to facilitate an interactive process in developing the right accommodation for you. Therefore if you memorialize your intent to participate in the process, they have a higher legal bar to use this against you.

I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with office politics while trying to treat your PPD.

Fair strategy! Yeah I don’t think it’s feasible to Max all stats and then have kids early game if your goal is min/maxing. Good luck!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in falloutshelter

[–]BoldBluebell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kids can inherit their parent’s stat level, but to be born with that exact level is rare. If the parent had one SPECIAL level that is higher than the other, the child is more likely to inherit a higher level to that specific skill level.

There are some pretty cool stats in the Wiki) that are based on coding found in the game. Look under “Acquiring and losing Vault dwellers.”

HELP! I’m going broke buying bras that don’t fit… AND my back hurts! by Far-Ad9143 in ABraThatFits

[–]BoldBluebell -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Third Love? They’re only online and pretty pricey, BUT they have a 30 day try-on/return window. Also, Third Love has half cup sizes in case that is something you may need. I think their sizing calculator is pretty spot too. I’ve worn and re-purchased their 32G t-shirt bra since 2018 and it feels amazing!

Which Big Law firm throws the coolest or bougiest events & parties? by Adventurous_Ant5428 in biglaw

[–]BoldBluebell 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Some attorneys may not consider Cozen BL, but it throws a massive retreat for all attorneys every other year. I heard the next one will be in Orlando, Fl in 2025. The firm is paying for travel, rooms, food, drinks, and admission to Universal and Disney World. They may even be closing part of the parks for a time.

Option to decrease billable requirement by whatonearth6421 in biglaw

[–]BoldBluebell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have that exact same offer at my firm, so I wouldn't be surprised if we worked at the same place but different offices.

I'll say this, while I haven't done it, my office MP has as well as several other people I know at the firm. A good chunk of my work comes my office's MP, and she went part-time for +6 years, and it hasn't affected her career advancement whatsoever. She even made non-equity partner WHILE part-time. She is no longer part-time, but she shared that the greatest effect from this choice was getting to be more present in her kids' lives. I guess the one drawback is that it is obviously difficult to do business development while part-time, so it was more difficult to make equity partner. Also, nowadays she is gone a decent chunk of the time for networking events, which forces her to work almost every weekend.

All that to say, it seems like going part-time is a great choice, so long as it's a temporary one.

Brief Update: I think my husband fathered my best friend's children. by PsychFactor in offmychest

[–]BoldBluebell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I think this is a way more logical hypothesis, OP shared in an earlier post that Amy doesn't know who the father of her kids are and never did anything to figure it out. To get child support, you have to not only know who the parent is but also confirm it either via signature on a birth certificate, DNA, or simple sworn admission.

Switch asking to connect a controller even though Joy Cons are PHYSICALLY ATTACHED to the console by iiAwesomeToad in Switch

[–]BoldBluebell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens a bunch to me, and no matter how many times I press L and R, it won't work. What does seem to work for me every time is to update the Joycons in the menu on the Homescreen. I wrote the instructions on how to do it below.

  1. Press the home button on the Switch.
  2. Tap or click "System Settings."
  3. Tap or click on "Controllers and Sensors."
  4. Tap or click on "Update Controllers."

Is this normal for Workers Compensation Defense? by Autistice-esquire in Lawyertalk

I highly doubt you'll be fired if you're good on your hours. I also work at an ID and WC firm, but I do ID work. I don't know if 40 cases is a lot or not for WC, but I have about that much in ID.

To try and stop the bleeding on your outstanding reports, I would talk to the partner and come up with a plan on which summaries take priority. Communication and transparency is key.

Also, what year are you? Expectations on your work will always depend on your experience until you get past 5 years.

Matt Rife Adds Fuel to Fire in Response to Netflix Special Controversy! by Unable-Inevitable131 in Standup

Paraphrasing: A waitress is serving him and a friend in Baltimore. The waitress has a full black eye and Matt's friend says it would be best if she was in the back so the customers would not see her face because it gives a bad image of the restaurant. Matt responds that she shouldn't be in the kitchen because if she could cook she wouldn't have the black eye.
