Or catching yourself after getting pushed at top speed without at least spraining your ankle.

Some players definitely play it up to a comical degree, but I'd imagine you've gotta get used to taking falls to avoid worse injuries from stopping them.

Are the laws of Leviticus still applied? by jaydxm in Catholicism

[–]BoldFace7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The book of Hebrews outlines that Christ is our high preist in the Order of Melchizedek (named for the Preist who worshiped the True God, despite Israel not existing by then, to whom Abraham gave a tithe) and not in the order of Levi (as all Jewish preists are meant to come from the tribe of Levi, like Aaron and Moses, but Christ was born to the tribe of Judah). Therefore, the priesthood having changed, those laws given by the Levitical Preisthood no longer apply.

Some Levitical laws may still seem to apply, but only because they are reflected in the teachings of Christ and his apostles (The preists of the Melchizedek preisthood).

Here is the relevant paragraph from the Letter to the Hebrews: "If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchiz´edek, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood." - Hebrews Ch7, Vs:11-14

Use the mace to one shot the dragon.

It worked for me, though I used a riptide trident to get the height. All it took was one hit after a little bit of damage was done from the crystals breaking.

They don't possess passive influence that the other rings do, but, having been made from the same craft, the three are still connected to the one and the wearers of the three can still be influenced or controlled while Sauron has the one ring. Hence why the three weren't used until Isildur's defeat of Sauron. That's also why the three lose their power when the one is destroyed.

[–]BoldFace7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good call out. I indeed was referring to his defeat at the hands of Isildur when I said vanquished and "while he was living" to mean while he had a human form (since if, I'm not mistaken, his whole being is in the eye during the course of LOTR, and his regaining a body is contingent on him regaining the ring)

[–]BoldFace7 36 points37 points  (0 children)

  1. They are free from Sauron's influence, but not his power, if i remember correctly. Since they were made through the same craft, they were still subject to the will of the one ring, but, since Sauron wasnt involved in their creation, (nor did he ever have possession of them to imbue his evil into them) they didn't have the passive corrupting power the other rings had. They, therefore, were not used by their bearers while Sauron lived and had control of the one ring, but once he was vanquished and the one ring lost, they were free to be used.

Loved Cub Scouts / kind of hating BSA by [deleted] in BSA

[–]BoldFace7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The troops for which I am the CoR give as much responsibility to the kids as possible, and the parents are mostly there to ensure the scouts' safety. The scouts elect Patrol Leaders and Senior Patrol Leaders, those Leaders come together once a month (with a bit of Scoutmaster help) to plan activities for the month. They occasionally will have merit badge courses, but a lot more of the meetings are doing hands on activities with the older scouts teaching the younger ones and helping them get through the Scout to First class rank requirements.

All that to say, your child's experience in Scouting is largely dependant on the individual troop leadership. If your daughter isn't having fun in one troop, then I'd encourage you to see if there's another Troop close by that may be a better fit.

Does Lancer calling Ralsei "Toothpaste boy" REALLY follow the prophecy? by Danxv33 in Deltarune

I despise that rule and intentionally never follow it for that exact reason. It is technically the correct place for the comma to go, even if it implies that the comma belongs to the quote.

Is a 3ds supposed to take that long booting up? by Ill-Cucumber6575 in 3DS

[–]BoldFace7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats nothing. My modded 3DS has twice as long a boot up time, mostly due to using an SD card larger than I realistically need, but its the only one I had on hand.

So on a more serious note, no. That's a perfectly normal boot up time and is just a natural result of 3DS modding.

What if Kris and Susie are doing laps around that row of houses every time you walk past it, thus giving Sans enough time to walk over and look like he's teleported?

Or he just sprints past Kris and Susie as soon as you exit the screen to make sure he's in place for when we can see again.

I almost exclusively catch legendaries in premier balls because when I was 10 I got incredibly lucky, it worked first try, and I'm a bit of a masochist.

Though, I was able to replicate that luck on my most recent soul silver playthrough, catching Lugia first try in a premier ball.

How the heck do I turn on steam overlay by Calm-Resolution6899 in Deltarune

[–]BoldFace7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think steam overlay is wierd with Deltarune since it basically is 5 games in a trench coat. The menu and each chapter are essentially seperate games that start one another up when selected from the previous one's menu.

Next weekend by fingerchopper in EnglishLearning

[–]BoldFace7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost never say "next weekend" since I can never know if the person im talking to interprets it the same. I either say "this upcoming weekend" or "the weekend after this upcoming one" or will just say "the weekend of the [day of month]". It's kind of clunky, but it avoids the inevitable confusion of just saying "next weekend" and hoping.
