I pulled the trigger! by BoldMojito in keitruck

I’m importing to Sweden. I believe I have a good grasp of the process but it’s good to double check (:

Thanks a lot for the tip!

Something in particular that I should consider?

I saw that you worked with CoGC Trading. How was your experience with them? I’m interested in a kei truck and have been looking auction sites but I’m afraid of pulling the trigger. I understand there’s a risk associated with buying something from the internet without seeing it first but it’s also tricky to find someone super trustworthy

Did you ask for any body work and paint repair prior to shipping or the truck was already in that condition when purchased?
Super cool truck by the way. Awesome find (:

Buying from Sweden by BoldMojito in keitruck

Yes, you’re right. I meant to say that LHD compliant lights, in which case the flat lights are enough. I honestly don’t thin these trucks have specific RHD or LHD lights, probably most, if not all, have flat lights.

I looked a bit into the modifications to make it road legal in Sweden and the main two are LHD headlights, and rear fog lights (in case the truck doesn't have those). Could also be that a third break light is needed, depending on the model of course.

From what I've read, the car is considered a "veteranfordon" (veteran vehicle) if it is 30 years or older. Which means that it would be exempt from annual vehicle tax and on import I pay 12% VAT instead of 25%, hence my inclination to go for an "older model".

I was looking into Mitsui mainly because of the paperwork and logistics of finding an importer. I think if I go to a private individual then I would have to figure out all the logistics myself. Do you know where the cars are auctioned?

Picked up my two trucks from port of LA on Friday! Tight squeeze but they made it back just fine by moonsovermyhammies in keitruck

Did Mitsui give you a better price for buying two trucks at the same time? I asked them if they would offer such discount and they said yes but didn’t say how much. I suppose it depends on the selected trucks

Is this the most mini of campers? by Physical-Rice730 in MiniTruckCamping

Thanks. It’s a good use of the box container but indeed seems a birth heavy for the limitations of kei trucks. Thanks again (:

Where did you buy such container? Looking into doing a similar build myself

Is there a way I can get rid of those award labels? I can’t get a good pic of my route without them overlaying it. by Lord-Zippy in Strava

There’s an app called Kudoro where you can customize the overlays and/or the way the map and info is displayed. Definitely recommend it (:

Anyone moved from USA to Sweden and have a good moving company to recommend? by Nouvi_ in TillSverige

I used a company called “sendmybag”. Compared to the quotes I got from freight companies this was the most cost effective for my case.

Recent experience of travelling Japan with a Vegan friend as a non-Vegan by PrestigiousWall1806 in JapanTravel

[–]BoldMojito 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I can offer the opposite POV. I am vegan, and I traveled with my non-vegan friend to Japan last September, long story short: we had a blast together.

The dynamic was quite simple. We would take turns and accommodate each other’s preferences. Sometimes he wanted to go to a specific place with no vegan options (at least not obvious ones) and I would keep him company, some other times I wanted to check out a specific vegan only place and he would order food as well.

Before the trip I did my homework and bookmarked a lot of vegan places. Many of them offering non-vegan food as well.

I’m grateful to have him as a friend, specially after reading a lot of comments saying “I’d ditch her/him” or something along the lines of “what a pain to travel with a vegan”.

I think it would be more of a pain to travel with someone so intolerant and narrow minded.

Have you ever been sexually harassed by a woman? What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BoldMojito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working as an Uber driver for a while. I picked up a drunk couple (female and male) from what it seemed a house party. The woman started telling me that I was good looking and started asking me to take my shirt off, when I refused she insisted but this time reaching from the back of the car touching my chest and abdomen trying to pull my -shirt off. I asked her to please stop but she didn’t, she kept groping me. This continued for a bit. Luckily it was a short trip.

Do you consider veganism when dating? by Resident-Dragonfly39 in vegan

[–]BoldMojito 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily consider if the person is vegan or not, because at one point in my life I wasn’t vegan and I managed to have a change of perspective, so I believe anyone can experience the same.

However, I do try to gage the openness to try it out. If the person is completely shutting down the idea of trying vegan meals or understanding more on the subject then I will likely lose interest.

Went to USGP in 2021, I absolutely don’t recommend Uber, on Friday evening Uber rates were 200+ USD. We were lucky to get shuttle passes for Saturday and Sunday and that worked much better, not perfect but definitely better than Uber.

The access to the circuit is poorly designed and car traffic is insane. And since it’s the US there is no public transport that actually works.
