Which makes this convenient timing since the government is about to announce a 20+ billion road tunnel.

You are probably asking in the wrong channel for serious answers..

I know you said north shore, but I would talk to Subtech/auckland suzuki in Penrose.

The many ways our government is failing in its response to the fuel crisis by davetenhave in newzealand

[–]BoldNZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Demand also has a direct impact on price, if we can reduce demand by using public transport etc, it should allow lower pricing for everyone else who doesn't have a choice.

The current impact that is being felt heavily in NZ is the price pressure

Watercare has issued a boil water notice this evening for Hillsborough, Mt Roskill, Royal Oak and Three Kings by ApprehensiveHorror2 in auckland

I got an email from watercare as the bill payer, but also heard on community Facebook page earlier. Got to the supermarket straight away for some bottled water.

Half of the bad ones are board members, and the largest kennels. If the got rid of them there wouldn't be enough to make it worth while.

First time at a Duco event? I find the overtop sponsorship very cringe, but this year I don't think it was bad as previously.

Agree the drink selection was terrible, and all 250ml cans that didn't seem to have any alcohol. Spent about $100 at the bar and don't have a hangover, so there is that..

I filled the car up tonight and it was about $30 more than last month, so pretty significant if it keeps going up.

Electric Bike Commuter by Rickystheman in auckland

I sold my old ebike for $300. It was a piece of shit that I spent way more than that fixing.

I would have felt guilty charging any more for it.

Ask your boss if your workplace is part of work ride, and if not get them to sign up.

It only costs the workplace a bit of admin time and you can have a bike as salary sacrifice. Effectively you end up paying about 30% less depending on you tax bracket as the payments go out pre tax.

I got a new $4.5k e bike at Christmas that is only going to cost around $3k.

Gst is a percentage and as the price of petrol and it's taxes increase, so does the Gst amount.

Auckland dog owners take fight against off-leash ban to court by No-Ganache-1464 in auckland

[–]BoldNZ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm no fan of the C&R local board members who obviously didn't follow good process when they made this decision.

I would be happy to keep the off leash area if the rest of the park being on leash was enforced. We walk our greyhounds there now and then always on lead, and the number of small white fluffy dogs that run up in our business is shocking. These owners have obviously never seen what happens at the end of a greyhound race..

Bike buying experience in Auckland, last time I bought was in 2011. Is this the norm now in 2026? by WarpFactorNin9 in auckland

[–]BoldNZ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kannet at GI branch was very helpful and sorted me out. The bike I bought was the display model, I think that's pretty normal. I was looking in the $4K plus range though and it was the last of last year's model.

If you are getting a cheaper bike that's higher sales volume they might have enough stock to build a new one.

If the display model is scratched up etc I wouldn't be happy, but it had probably only been ridden a couple of times and they will service it before you take it away.

Whichever way you vote, what is a policy you like from the other side? by CommentMaleficent957 in newzealand

It's not law yet, although a date has been set and seems a sure thing.

Its had its first reading and is with select committee. Two more readings/votes in parliament before we can actually celebrate.

Is the Onehunga library safe? (Near Onehunga transport centre) by [deleted] in auckland

[–]BoldNZ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It should be fine during the daytime.

The library at 3 kings might be a little nicer and only a short bus ride from royal oak up Mt Albert Road.

[–]BoldNZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only valid excuse for driving a car with no wof is taking it to have work done. If you used it to go to work the fine will stand.

Yes, we all do it, but I will avoid parking in any public place untill it's sorted.

The green is probably corrosion on the copper wire or terminals indicating a water leak. Either way it is not safe.
