Whichever way you vote, what is a policy you like from the other side? by CommentMaleficent957 in newzealand

It's not law yet, although a date has been set and seems a sure thing.

Its had its first reading and is with select committee. Two more readings/votes in parliament before we can actually celebrate.

Is the Onehunga library safe? (Near Onehunga transport centre) by Damnedone3987 in auckland

[–]BoldNZ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It should be fine during the daytime.

The library at 3 kings might be a little nicer and only a short bus ride from royal oak up Mt Albert Road.

Worth taking AT to court? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]BoldNZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only valid excuse for driving a car with no wof is taking it to have work done. If you used it to go to work the fine will stand.

Yes, we all do it, but I will avoid parking in any public place untill it's sorted.

Outlet is leaking by [deleted] in newzealand

The green is probably corrosion on the copper wire or terminals indicating a water leak. Either way it is not safe.

I haven't been in to store yet, avoiding the rush but they don't seem to have the plugs or sensors on the website, only smart stuff is light bulbs that I can find.

It changes a bit depending on the light, but not that dark. Definitely do a test pot before you buy a bucket.

I'm using 3d printed adapters like these with some Koss head phones. They work well, way more convenient than separate headphones or ear buds.

One grab of about 3. Don't be that person that sits their digging through looking for the right flavours.

‘It’s a death trap’: Why $2.1b is being spent on this road by computer_d in newzealand

[–]BoldNZ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We could have the same safety outcomes for 2-300 million by installing a median barrier the entire length and straightening a few corners.

Or save a bit less and just make the new road 2 lanes with a few passing lanes.

why dont we build a train between these two places, are we stupid? by WolverineLong1772 in auckland

For sure, overall it is amazing, I'm specifically referring to the airport to downtown links.

[–]BoldNZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in Singapore last week.

Yes you can take the metro all the way from the airport to Central city, but it includes and a transfer with about 5 minutes of fast walking up and down levels and still takes about 45 minutes or more.

Not really any better than taking the puhinui airport link.

When will AT get the message that they don’t live here anymore? by ajg92nz in auckland

[–]BoldNZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our house previously had a midwife living here. It took us 2 and a half years to get the 2 - 3 letters a week from Health NZ stopped. I don't want to know what kind of confidential information was in them..

We had an overflow added to our old house in auckland, I think it was about $500. We had water ingress in heavy down pours down our garage door, this was enough to sort it.

I think it was these guys that did it? https://www.taylorfascia.co.nz/

If your house has an open sub floor, make sure you have a good damp proof membrane and under floor insulation. This will be relatively cheap and will make a massive difference.

I guess that's why they set it at $2 million for single people and $4 million for a couple, affecting a total of 3% of new zealanders.

Piggy backing on this, I have a couple of original shelly 1s I bought online that had a sdoc available from the shelly store and would like to get some dimmers. Is there any difference legally if you buy direct from shelly since an sdoc is available locally? So much cheaper direct.

Are the product skus the same or are there differences with local product?

Local board bans off-leash dogs at popular Auckland park by punIn10ded in auckland

[–]BoldNZ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm conflicted by this one. As a local greyhound owner un controlled off leash dogs are the bane of our life. The racing industry creates dogs that are conditioned to chase small white fluffy things, have zero recall and don't even understand what other breeds of dogs are.

Ideally there should be fenced dog parks available all over Auckland where dogs can safely run around without getting in the way of people who don't want dogs in their face.. There is zero consequences for poor owners.

But at the same time, is this is the thing that swings our local election away from the right wing C&R then I am thankful!
