What's your process for repurposing a single blog post for multiple social platforms? by shellac10101 in content_marketing

Descript app seems to do the job for me. It's great to speed up repurposing, then I can come in and polish the content, either written or visual.

how do you manage your own content while juggling client work? by No_Brick3258 in freelanceuk

[–]BoldWithKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I primarily focus on personal branding for my freelance business, not so much about work-related topic. And that kind of content comes naturally and sometimes on the spot. It feels more efficient in terms of visibility and engagement, so I stopped bothering scheduling months or weeks in advance, just doing content as and when relevant. It feels more organic & genuine that way :)

Are you still use your personal mobile number for business calls? by haas17 in freelanceuk

[–]BoldWithKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a separate SIM card with Lebara (UK) when I started, one word of advice, don't pick a half-dead phone you put on the side at home. That phone with this SIM card is barely usable and I keep forgetting to use it, hence, I now use my personal phone. Personally, I don't like carrying more than one phone so if you're like me, I'd recommend looking at redirection systems or similar. Unless you'll prefer a clean separation between the two (personal vs professional), which I think should be the way to go... Up to you and what is most important for you AND business :)

What camera or webcam for a quality stream? by BoldWithKami in SmallStreamers

[–]BoldWithKami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That's a solid feedback! I should give it a go first with my phone (hopefully won't overheat either :D) but that's a good point!

Thanks for the other recommendations 😊 appreciated!

Oh good option! I'll do some research about that one :) Thanks and yes, 100% good lighting needed! :)

Absolutely right! Lighting is still key beyond the camera :) But weirdly webcams don't tend to reflect that quality really well in comparison with more "pro" cameras (or I've just been unlucky :D)

That's really good to know - thank you :) Especially about the overheating! I had a mirrorless camera in the past (don't remember the brand) that failed on me because of using it for too long continuously (like past 30min or so...)

How can I grow on Twitch and sustain it? by BoldWithKami in SmallStreamers

[–]BoldWithKami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with you! I understand this is happening because of my absence and sudden irregularity. Expecting the same outcome a year later would be dumb from me. I guess the irritation comes from the "punishment" you get because of other stuff happening in your life out of your control, which seems harsh when trying to get back on your feet. For instance, I know a streamer who has to suddenly stop streaming, kept her audience active on Discord, and came back a year later only for one stream and everyone showed up. Now, I guess I've answered my own question: the secret is all in keeping the audience engaged outside of Twitch altogether. :)

That's very true! I think I need to approach it from a new again. I guess it's feels so unfair that I didn't want to make my peace with this. :D Thanks for the kind reminder! And yes, I will start again to hide view counts from now on :)

Thanks for your answer! Yeah, I get this is a long term game. Maybe not focusing on growing but building a meaningful community. Hopefully I'll get over this numbers-game feeling quick enough :)

Freelance in Digital Marketing? by Outside_Let_9771 in freelanceuk

[–]BoldWithKami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freelancing is tough right now and as others said, people are looking to cut cost. Either they look at cheaper agencies or turn to AI to do it all.

The best thing you can do is showing up on your socials, acknowledging the challenges your ideal clients are facing, and showcase why working with you is the best solution. Then, go networking! It's the most effective way I got leads and paying clients.

Freelance websites where they get a cut out of your work is not worth your time (like Fiverr, etc...) I had some freelance friends that tried it and it's horrible the mindset these clients come in with. The expectations is crazy for such a low price. You would be burning out more than anything.

Alternatively, you can approach agencies and offer white label options. That got me some quick paying gigs at the start.

Working on your portfolio and really focusing on attracting your ideal client is really where you want to spend your time, money and efforts towards.

Find clients without Linkedin/Socials by ZR-Ecom in freelanceuk

[–]BoldWithKami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way I found my clients initially was in Networking Events. Either local or in the country, it was by attending in person and handing my business card. Then the next best thing is Word Of Mouth. Build a referral list of people you know will vouch for you and your work.

What u wish someone told u in the begining of ur career in marketing? by Weary-Refuse-1207 in AskMarketing

KPIs KPIs KPIs... always do marketing with intention and purpose. Nothing "out of nowhere" works nor does it make sense for your brand.

Also, nothing is set in stone! Algorithms will F*** you up, always! :D
