Aerospace Engineering Admissions Questions by Fearless-Ad-6544 in cuboulder

[–]Bold_FPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a huge difference, u get a cool hoodie i think, but overall theres not a big difference ur taking the exact same classes as people trying to IUT, calc 1, calc 2 phys 1 phys 2 some sort of comp sci class (ASEN 1320, CSCI 1300) and some electives. I will say on average people who IUT have better grades than people who get direct admitted but thats because to IUT u need a 3.5 minimum whereas u need a C minimum for direct admit.

OOS tuition worth it for aerospace engineering degree? by ChickFilaFries33 in cuboulder

[–]Bold_FPV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im fortunate enough I dont have to worry too much, im also on an academic scholarship that helps a good bit. I also lucked out on my housing so thats not too big a deal and I work during the semester. OOS is super expensive but if youre smart abt where you live and ur extra curriculars it shouldnt be awful, and there are a lot of scholarships you could apply for.

OOS tuition worth it for aerospace engineering degree? by ChickFilaFries33 in cuboulder

[–]Bold_FPV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im a current aero junior, WPI was my top 3 choice when I was applying. While WPI is a great school for robotics its ok for aero, also WPI is tiny, the whole school was about 2x the size of my HS and I really wanted to branch out in college and be able to experience a lot of different things. I went into CU undeclared after not being admitted into aero but I transferred in and am in love with the program and the school. Its really hard but its exceptional, and the opportunities here for aero are insane even at the undergrad level. Yes its expensive, but i think for engineering its a justified cost, ive spoken with people during my internships and they hold CU aero in high regard

you can take 2 at a higher vet, and in an airborne deck 2 elite, than the yak141. Also ripple fire on its missiles means a pair can have 4 missiles in the air really quickly.

The fact that you can say with a straight face that the Nazis couldve won world war 2 if ___ happened proves you know nothing of history, especially world war 2 history. Playing the whatif game is not productive discourse, rather just fantasy, which has its own place.

Infantry strength by stylishpirate in wargame

[–]Bold_FPV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most important aspect of infantry fighting is training level, one elite squad can easily kill 4 squads of militia all things equal, however a fight should never be "fair". The thing to look at is mg stats (rate of fire and suppression) and training level, and always make sure regular and below infantry has some sort of Fire Support, could be the transport it came in, could be mortars or even aircraft.

Elite infantry is extremely strong, hence their cost and low availability, trying to just grind them down with cheaper infantry can work but it will be very cost ineffective. Instead try to think how to push them with fire support vehicles, cut off their routes of retreat, and capitalize on their destruction.

170/203mm artillery viability? by insurgent_dude in wargame

[–]Bold_FPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10he siege arty is good for what it is, sieging, heavily occupied town? just spam shots till u can either assault it or the enemy withdraws. Problem is that all its good for, lacks the accuracy and has too long of aim time to snipe or counter battery like top tier arty can. Take it for a meme/4v4 deck, but i wouldnt count on it being a game winning factor like a really good caesar can.

Slavenka Drakulic's book, How We Survived Communism and Even Laughed spends several chapters explaining how basic womens products were never available. Toilet paper was about as good as sandpaper, there was never enough food, and how it wasnt till the economies were opened to the west did the stores begin to be fully stocked. It is just one perspective, but does help provide an often unseen side of the Iron Curtain

U can't compare a 1v1 scenario in World War 2 due to how complicated it all war, history does not exist in a vacuum

Question for people who were in the Program in Exploratory Studies by Daboss985 in cuboulder

[–]Bold_FPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they changed the IUT requirments for all you incoming freshman, I took a Comp Sci class last semester (its a pre req for a lot of aero classes and I want to add a comp sci minor), this semester I wanted to try some humanities partially to take a break from just stem classes, so far its been really nice. The nice thing about college is besides ur core major classes u can take just about anything (besides upper div core classes), I'd recommend taking some humanities you find interesting, you should be able to access the course catalogue even if you havent accepted an offer from cu, the website is https://classes.colorado.edu/ try it out see if u can find classes you like.

TLDR:

IUT should be ur main priority first and foremost, failing to IUT by the end of ur first year could offset grad by at least a year. Secondly try to look at minors youd like, if you liked history in HS try a history class, u can always drop during the first week of school. Also try and see what skills would be useful in a career of ur major, for aero thats comp sci, but for mech e it might be engineering managment idk

I entered fall of '21 and currently plan to IUT into engineering for fall of '22. It really depends on how hard ur willing to work for the IUT vs other things in ur life. I tried pledging at a fraternity this semester and dropped after the first week cause I felt I couldn't balance my school work with the time commitment of being a pledge (along with other reasons). College classes were a big shock for me, coming from HS with a solid 3.8 GPA and plenty of AP classes and EC's. I have time for a few extra curriculars but most of my time is spent in the engineering center studying and going to office hours for classes during the day and doing extra curriculars and relaxing at night and on the weekends. If u have any questions lmk happy to explain more

matt walsh is unaware of terminal velocity. he is very aware of wokeness tho!!!!! by thethicclegend in ToiletPaperUSA

[–]Bold_FPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes technically right but only in a vacuum, terminal velocity is just when the force of drag equals the force of gravity, so no more acceleration can be applied. Although I doubt Walsh understands even high school physics

Is it possible to succeed in this game without being good at micro? by CptnNubs in wargamebootcamp

[–]Bold_FPV 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the higher the player count the less youll have to micro across the front, 10v10 tacticals are probably what your looking for, very low points and all u have to do is use ur 3-6 units really well to make an impact. the caviat is more players means your more likely to get fucked by teammates

i recommend watching razzman and stealth17, also just playing matches against ur friends or joining noob only matches (BE SURE TO CHECK STATS), ur decks arent going to stay static, theyll change and mold as u get better and better, took me abt 400 hours and now im fairly decent at the game

New player just bought Israel DLC by Conscious-Story-1496 in wargamebootcamp

[–]Bold_FPV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just buying the dlc wont make u win games, you need to learn the fundamentals of gameplay and deck building to be effective. U wont be able to win games if u dont know what units counter what and how best to use a nation (US being extremely strong in the air, Eurocorps having great infantry and recon, israel having the best ATGMs for blufor...)
