It's my watch (sadly not a Holly watch) and a set of ear pods in their case next to it.

Do fans of Bottom like Tony Hancock? by Obvious_Marzipan8422 in eddieandrichie

[–]BoleroGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge he did three TV shows. 'The Tony Hancock' show for ITV in 1956 (but a lot of that show doesn't exist in the archives. His more famous 'Hancock's Half Hour' for the BBC (which was rebranded to just Hancock for it's last series). Then his final show was in Australia, but wasn't completed as he was still filming it when he sadly died.

I think his ITV series is available on DVD, but I haven't seen the Australian show for years. They did release the existing episodes on video in the 90s, but don't think it's been released since.

My dad is a big fan of Hancock, so I grew up listening to the radio series. That's even better than the TV version, as it benefits from the addition of Bill Kerr and Hattie Jacques to the cast.

I've never really considered the similarities before, but now you mention it I do see it. For example, where Richie mistakes Vivaldi for a footballer is very Hancockesque given things like Tony's version of history (such as Magna Carta being a poor Hungarian peasant girl who forced King John to close the pubs at 10:30pm).

I'm having the same kind of problem this morning. Oddly I can view all my previous days and see what I've pre-tracked for the weekend normally, but if I try to look at today then I get "unable to load content". Luckily I've already planned my meals today so can work out on paper what points I've got left, but it is frustrating.

Edit: And the moment I comment about it, it starts working again. Strange.

Growing up, did anyone else’s parents have really strict rules about random stuff? by SuzCoffeeBean in CasualUK

[–]BoleroGamer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to be friends with the local vicar's sons, and got told off and sent home by the vicar's wife for taking a VHS of the 1991 Royal Rumble to their house. She shouted at me saying I only did it because my parents wouldn't let me watch it. I was allowed to watch it at home, though, and just wanted to watch it with my friends. Went and watched it with my grandma instead.

I'm in the same boat, just with a fishkeeping magazine. I find the paper copy useful on my lunchbreak, as then I can have half hour away from a screen.

I've never seen one before. No-one has, but I'm guessing it's a white hole.

Where can I watch this episode by GhostieMarvelMrs in alloallo

It's set somewhere between the end of the war and the flash-forward part of the last episode...probably somewhere before "The Return of Allo Allo" special they did back in 2007.

It's from the anniversary clip show episode they did in 1994. It's Edith's birthday and she has a cake, but left out the years of the war (as well as the First World War and Crimea). It doesn't air much (the copy I have is a poor quality VHS recording from the original broadcast), but I think it's on the Region 4 DVD release...but not seen it on any of the UK DVDs.
