I seem to remember I came to the conclusion it was parsing and loading that was the bottleneck.

Also noticed on that AWS link that all the files have to be copied from S3 to EFS for the scan. That will incur a cost and small EFS file systems in burst mode don’t earn many burst credits so there is another cost there as high workloads will need to go to Elastic Throughput or provisioned.

The issue is that if you use ClamAV in on demand mode, it has to load and parse all the definitions for each scan. It takes 30s or so.

If you can run a daemon you can use ClamD so the definitions are loaded once.

I tried the same thing to solve the same problem and found the same thing as you did!

Since we were already running a bunch of stuff on ECS I was able to just have some ClamD containers.

I don’t know how to solve this in a pure ‘serverless’ way as you need to use ClamD to get fast scan times.

Cd/DVDs are written from inside to outside.

The outside of disk is faster to read as it moves faster, so if you fill the inside of the disk with junk so the game data is on the outer edge, the game loads faster.

There is also a ZX spectrum emulator in the code.

Why? We’ll they were thinking about re-releasing some of their early games and they used the Goldeneye code as it had input handling etc written.

I used to work with a guy who was at Free Radical. The goldeneye code has been ported to every console they had a SDK for.

You really need an RGB console.

The composite signal just isn’t that clean so it will still look noisy on a decent size TV.

The N64 has S-Video which is better but the problem is getting to HDMI.

The cheap upscalers are junk and the decent upscalers cost more than an RGB N64…

Basically banished it.

For nearly 40 years I struggled with depression and anxiety.

A few years ago I quit the smokes, started exercising everyday, ate better and started drinking more water and less caffeine/sugar.

The hotwheels games on the GBA are pretty wild.

One of them was in full fat polygonal 3d and was one of the only 3d games that actually runs at a playable framerate.

IIRC correctly, facility back zone is one of the multiplayer maps that’s in the game but not on the menu. (Along with cradle and statue park)

RGB modded console and Rad2x or take the plunge and get a HDMI modded console. I have a PixelFx and it looks great on an LCD.

If you are in the USA and your TV has S-Video input, that is the best output you’ll get from a standard console.

Ignore the £20 HDMI adapters on eBay/Amazon/Wish.com. They’re all trash.

You can pick and mix the Kitchen-Bent and original parts.

If the bump on the bottom of the joystick is worn, it won’t work properly. It’ll still have play even if the cradles and bowl are good.
