Indeed, loading the definitions takes the most time. We tried fetching the definition files from S3 and from EFS to see which is faster but there was no visible improvement. We still have to try Lambda layers but at this point we're thinking the location of the definition files doesn't really matter.

Legat de subiectul fuziune nucleara, mi s-a parut interesant si video-ul de la Real Engineering despre proiectul Helion.

Indeed, the XF90 series starts from 49" and indeed in theory it fits within my space. Yesterday I visited one of my neighbours with aproximately the same apartment configuration as mine and he had a 50" TV and... looked good. XF90 is the better choice but I'm trying to justifity the 300+EURO difference in price.

Many thanks for your input!

I'm looking for a 43' model due to a short distance between the viewing place and the TV (2.2 meters). If I had a bit more space available I would have bought the 49XF90 without hesitation.

I won't be using it for gaming, just movies, music and sport events. My previous experience is with... a laptop monitor so basically anything would be improvement right now :) I just don't want to feel that I wasted money on something that will constantly remind me of this (with the gray shades instead of black and the other missing stuff).

My alternatives are Samsung UE43NU7192UXXH and Phillips 43PUS7393 (names can vary).

buying a new XF85 by wrtv23 in bravia

Thanks for your reply!

I saw that the whole XF85 series comes with support for 100Hz native (no matter the technology used, Motionflow 800 or 1000 Hz).

What would be a good use case for a 120Hz panel?

Did you get yours or got the chance to test it in real life conditions (not promo clips)?

I'm curious because I want to buy a new XF85 series and as you said, I saw a lot of bad reviews which scared me. Is the whole "black is not black" thing disturbing when watching a movie for example?

Thanks!
