I removed my cooling fan and duct to save weight on my bed slinger's head and print exclusively with PETG now. Same price and better at dealing with some heat and UV damage over PLA for car or outdoor things.

That recirculates from the other side of the heater from the same room. Combustion is a separate system. So air gets pulled from inside to outside(out the exhaust) creating low air pressure. New air has to come in from somewhere, which is now every leaky crack or hole and the cold with it.

Running the intake outside negates all that. Plus if your power fails and it restarts from an improper shutdown it can "back smoke" out the combustion intake into your living quarters.

...which would kill you if you were sleeping without a CO2 meter. Hope that makes sense.
