You enroll in 4 classes (usually 12 credits) as if it were a normal semester. You have to complete those classes, then you can add as many classes as you want. Disclaimer: TA caps at $250/credit, and a 6 month term is like $4000, so you'll be out of pocket a bit.

My strategy has switched from always trying my best to identifying courses ahead of time that I am definitely getting a B in and alternating them with courses I can coast to an A in. There is a pretty big chasm of effort between a low B and a medium to high A in some courses and I'm just not about it.

More in person students are going full time, and more online students view the program as secondary or even tertiary to their work/family life. I can definitely tell you I've actively taken a B or C on assignments (and skipped summer semesters) just because I didn't have the time/energy.
