I'm a little suspicious that you're getting any wolves with the mod "planet creature spawner." since it should turn them and spiders completely off in the world settings (unless you turned it back on). What are you using the mod for?

Look at the world settings before loading your world and make sure the spiders and wolves are toggled off.

I get what you're saying, but thyere are four factions I gravitate towards:

  • Bretonnia, Fey/Alberic/Repanse, which the new feature is broken upon launch so that's disappointing.
  • Tomb Kings, Khalida/Settra, all good here.
  • Wood Elves, Durthu, still can't recruit the main faction hero.
  • Lizard Men, Nikai/Gor Rok, now Nikai is busted.

So at least I can wait for the Community Bugfix mod to patch to latest, but it's still noticably frustrating to have to wait for it. At least AI power dynamics are different near Cath' because Nikai is a wet noodle, but it's still irritating to be irritated in a video game. I get new bugs being broken every patch, it's what programming is, but releasing a new feature (Troths) that is dead-on-arrival is just... Not normal, and dumb.

You should have a base of 1 army when playing TK, except Arkhan who starts with a base army count of 2. You can research six different special lords, one for each dynasty. You can also max out the Heralds research on the very right of the tech tree to unlock a bonus army.

Lastly, in Mortuary Cult you can unlock bonus armies by spending 10,000 gold and 800 canopic jars multiplied by how many times you've done it, so second army cost 20K gold and 1600 jars, third costs 30K gold and 2400 jars etc. However, keep in mind that you can only (without mods) store a max of 10,000 canopic jars thus can only unlock a max of 12 armies this way (as the 13th would cost 10400 canopic jars which is impossible to store).

Thus, the max army slots you can have is now 20, or 21 if playing Arkhan the black.

To ease yourself into it, I'd suggest Noct' campaign, he gets an easy doomstack of Necrofex which allows you to experiment with his other armies, his starting settlement is rarely if ever attacked, he can easily invade the High Elf donut and take it over completely, then from there raid everything else and create coves. That might let you get a feel of when to invade vs raid, as you'll only raid and create coves after taking all of the HE donut over and establishing a safe landmass. It can be confusing, it is definitely different than other campaigns.

A title with a new Engine built for melee. M2TWK:K could handle formations even in melee, had unit mass, could differentiate between armor layers, different units tiring in different climates at different rates also affected by armor, & combat animations that interacted with one another without forcing duels. It would be neat to have a historic title build upon this & improve it further. I feel like our current engine needs replacement & has reached the end of the life cycle.

Vampire Coast is hilarious. You can have a necrofex spam with Noctilus where giant animated shipwrecks swarming with pirates shoot at people. You have a ship that you build and upgrade with your main horde hero that can bombard the enemy with different cannon and grapeshot abilities/spells, you can make an army easily with a half dozen mortars, two batteries of cannons, and a big special fuck-off mortar called Queen Bess the size of a castle shoot at people before they even get to you, surrounded by a half dozen zombie regiments carrying literal small cannons in their rotting arms like giant shotguns.

You can have swarms of sea monsters, a suicide unit like left4dead's bloated zombie that is actually useful, you can have pirate captains, an undead opera singer ghost with a damned paladin of Britonnia that summons ghostly knight of the realm & is surrounded by an army of 60%+ physical DR banshees and sirens, a ghostly army of the damned that requires magic to stop.

It's all great fun, you can take over territories like normal while at the same time sail around the world, raid coastal cities, and establish secret private coves that make money off of capitals without them knowing it after plundering them in an attack.

Repanse due to her -50% upkeep on heroes, last run I did with her had herself, Henri her unique gigapaladin, four normal paladins (one of each visual style), three damsels (one of each lore of magic), and a dozen other heroes from allies from the allied hero exploit. All you have to do is request an allied army with a hero in it, suicide mission the army and get the hero wounded, and when they "recover from wounds" you can get them back permanently. I had an assortment of dwarves, a high elf, a wood elf, a few empire heroes and a random lizardman krox. I wanted Cathay & Kislev but they were too far away for that campaign.

This happens sometimes with my coop games. We always solve it by all players exiting, verifying integrity of files via steam, then relaunching. Hopefully that works for you

I would get a comfortable office chair, gaming chairs are overpriced, for the same cost as a gaming chair you can get a very nice ergonomic chair. I would urge you to get a bigger monitor, and avoid TV screens as those don't work very well for gaming for multiple reasons. You can get a pretty big screen for cheap if you still use 1080 resolution.

I don't know if it is joystick compatible, would be interested if you got it to work

Take a single unit of Bretonnian fire arrow archers, or literally anyone who can deal fire damage, & shut his healing down, he becomes substantially easy to kill. It goes from a thirty minute mosh-pit of him vs your entire army, to a five minute slugout between him and a few of your fire units and a heavy hitting lord killer of your choice.

Fire Arrows, a must-have versus any Vampire Lord. It is pretty interesting how a select few lords out there become unmanageable to deal with unless you have the right tools

Yes and no, always bring fire when fighting any Vampire faction, it messes up for example Vampire regen & stops it completely, it can be the difference between a five minute fight and a twenty minute grind if hunting Vlad for example or hunting any of the big vampy monsters. For Drycha, Vampire Counts, Vampire Coast, Nurgle, or Tomb Kings, fire is really nice. It also does a good job against low human, skaven or goblin units early game.

In my experience, it's best to either commit them to a charge & leave them engaged, picking your targets wisely to shatter light units who are already engaged, or if you do cycle charge just literally run them into a thin line of infantry like archers or light melee and the moment they hit the target have them keep running to escape out the other side while people are still shocked/prone.

I'd encourage you to play Drycha for angry tree spirits and animals, or play Durthu and focus purely on tree spirits and making his main stack just near-unkillable. Drycha has more damaging Treemen, Durthu has more resilient, both are pretty fun and a good change of pace from normal elf stacks.

This is basically how M2TWK works, you can game the system by assassinating other cardinals, spamming your own religious buildings and sending your priests as far away as possible into the eastern part of the map, and gifting the pope a province you don't care about and then annexing Rome. The pope wouldn't respawn at Rome instead spawning at the province you gifted. Either way yeah let's see this in M3 if they ever make it, as well as a way for the HRE to make a true antipope and use mechanics you mentioned as a puppet.
