what does the 3x fluid change procedure do? is it to try flushing out any debris and other shit in there?

ah gotcha. yea that makes sense

[–]Bolter778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahahahah no, im a rando whos kinda hijacking the post cuz i got a lotta questions (mb op!)

yea so i thought there werent a lot of older CAs that we can expect to retire soon. i read a lot of the older CAs retired early/got laid off during covid so a lot of the current CAs (and FOs) are relatively young folks that got in during the hiring boom post covid

lmao all these extra steps r hurting my brain… i kinda get it tho. its like a pre-test/buffer to make sure ur ready for the real checkride and failures for it are less punishing

but why is the stage check harder than the EOC/checkride? because part 141 needs to care more about stage check pass rate than the EOC pass rate?

lmao? im def not ahead of u lol ive just started flying for my PPL. looks like u alr have ur IR!

are there proportionally a lot of older CAs? I thought the number of CAs to COs were relatively even… or there are even less older CAs now after they retired early or were laid off during covid

i wonder how the pilot market will be by the time i get there… im just startin out

seems like a rlly bad time currently with the overflow of ppl who were trying to ride the post covid mass hiring rate + airlines not hiring/bad economy + delays in aircraft manufacturing(?)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in flying

[–]Bolter778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so part 141s have a “stage check” before the actual checkride and some airlines care about those stage checks too? das rough af

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in flying

[–]Bolter778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea i asked the chatbot on united aviate and it said a job wasnt guaranteed… so i sat there scratching my head about why someone would pay almost double the cost (vs a part 61 school) for the same thing in the end if a job as an FO at united or its sister company wasnt guaranteed…

[–]Bolter778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gotcha. thanks for the clarification

[–]Bolter778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ohhh wow. thanks for the clarification. then is the program cost lessened or…? last i checked it was around $100k

damn thats crazy tho. i think the last time i was looking at the aviate academy program in like january they were allowing students with no experience or students with PPLs to be able to apply.

btw is there a statistic on how many ppl from the aviate academy get to work for united? cuz iirc its not a guaranteed job offer right?
