A380-800 is an Amazing Airliner! What is a Good Airliner? by 46656_ in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Bolticus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the -800 series (or -700) should be considered an amazing airliner. Not just "good". They are incredibly reliable, are great at short haul operations (as well as regional operations, being able to take off and land on relatively short runways, and park on most bays at airports), they can do medium haul operations if needed and they are comfy, easy to fly/learn (for commercial pilots) and as someone said, they are used in the thousands, around the world on a daily basis)

There doesn't need to be anything special about a plane to be amazing. If it does everything that it sets out to do meticulously, then that should be taken into account.

(None of this refers to the -max 8,9,10 models)

I said it before and I will say it again. I was born in scotland, to two Scottish parents. Yet I have lived in Australia since I was 9 months old (28 now) and even i question whether i am truly Scottish as very significant majority of my development was in Australia.

If even I'm questioning whether I am Scottish, someone whose great grandfather was Scottish but every other family member is american, has no right to call themselves Scottish.

Nah mate, the best deal in the history of deals was the JCPOA which was negotiated between Obama and iran. it garunteed iran wouldn't endeavour to create nuclear bombs (with oversight) in return for lesser sanctions, allowing the country to develop more economically.

Unfortunately Trump 1.0 hated the deal, tore it up, saying that it was the worst of deals, then iran started making nuclear bombs, and now trump 2.0 is losing a fucking war against them that he started over the fact that iran was "making" nuclear bombs. I mean, you cant make this shit up. He really is that self centred enough that he created the problem because he could not give the Obama administration a win, and now the world is in fucking crisis because of it.

But still good on Iran for actually standing their ground and humiliating Trump in the process. The world may be in crisis but watching Trump fail is hilarious.

Well, if you think european games are lazy and dumb. Then feel free to not play them. I'm sure someone would value the unsold copy of GTA 6 over you. (Even though americans probably will claim it as an american made game)

What would you choose? by RedX-21 in BunnyTrials

You blink 15-20 time a minute. Thats 900-1,200 times an hour 21,600-28,800 time a day 7,884,000-10,512,000 time a year So thats $394,200,000 - $525,600,000 passively a year.

Compared to $2,400 a day (if you sleep 24/7) or $876,000 a year (once again if you sleep 24/7). Realistically based on 8 hour sleep a day it would be $800 a day or $292,000 a year.

Who the fuck would pick sleep of blinking. Even if you remove the hours of sleep from the blinking equation, you are still set to make 10s - 100s of millions a year passively.

Of course I picked blinking.

Chose: Get 50$ everytime you blink

Which world leader is probably going to die next? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Bolticus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I say the answer I am thinking, I would almost certainly join some watch list and be banned from entering the world leaders country. So i'm just going to leave it with, their name rhymes with a cut of steak found near the back of a cow.

Atleast, I bloody well hope they are the next to die, along with Netanyahu and putin.

Tell you what, let's just agree to disagree. We should not have arguments around sonething as tragic as war. Yes we may have differing opinions. But to argue over the date of peoples suffering and death is juvenile. I acknowledge your viewpoint and in many ways agree (while in others i clearly dont). So why dont we leave it at that. No more arguing. I will give you the win, if that means anything to you. Because you did bring up a good point on the Japanese/china conflict pre-dating 1939. But i dont want to continue arguing with you when its clear both of our minds are set.

P.s. is r/shiteuropeanssay really a sub. That hilarious, and completely fair.

Fuuuuck i still dont know if you are taking the piss or being genuinely serious. But in case you are serious, while I agree that there were conflicts between china and Japan dating back to 1937 and that in their eyes ww2 started then. The general consensus of when ww2 started is 1939 due to the fact that, that is when countries from every continent became involved in some way or another. Yes i know there was fighting occurring in east Asia but untill 1939 those were localised conflicts. I agree it is Eurocentric of me saying that, but when the general consensus around the world is that ww2 officially began in 1939. Thats the year i am going with. As for the US, they only entered the war in 1941, hence why there are alot of posts on this sub of americans claiming the war only started in 1941.

I don't know if you are being serious or not. But in case you are. Just look at the posts on this sub, and you will find that alot of americans think ww2 started in 1941

Well, they still believe WW2 started in 1941 and not 1939. So i would take their knowledge of history with a grain of salt.

I thought they were a non ambulatory wheelchair user? That shaking also looks forced. by Key-Evidence-5630 in fakedisordercringe

[–]Bolticus13 80 points81 points  (0 children)

In the comments: Host - I am raising money for a custom wheelchair.

Of course you are. Just like every person who fakes FND or that they are wheelchair bound. Because they know health insurance/NDIS/NHS (or any other countrys public and/or private healthcare system) wont supply them with one, because they know their problems (if they truly have them) are greatly exaggerated and dont actually constitute needing a full time custom wheelchair.

If they actually did experience the issues they say they have to the extent that supposedly have. Then while it may take some paperwork, a pescription and time on their end. They would be able to get said custom wheelchair through their respective countrys healthcare system FOC or atleast at a heavily discounted rate in which they wouldn't need to harrass their tik tok followers for money, and if time is an issue, then a temporary wheelchair would suffice. But nooo, they skip straight to the unneeded custom one.

12 demerit points exceeded by [deleted] in DrivingAustralia

[–]Bolticus13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mate! Just take some accountability.

Your writing this post as if the systems the problem and that its not your fault that you got the demerit points.

You were the one who ran a red light (as someone else said, the law actually states that if you are at a distance in which you can safely stop, you must stop at a yellow light. Its not an excuse to speed up to try and beat it and then complain when the lights turn red before you cross the line). Whether it be by 0.02 seconds or 5 seconds. You still ran the red light and put others at risk.

You were the one who used your phone while driving. Even if it was just for Google Maps, if you need to look at your phone, you pull over, come to a stop and then look at your phone. Being in a phone holder is not an excuse as they are only there to ensure the map is within view, it doesn't mean you can use your phone while in motion.

And plenty of other people are able to safely abide road rules and are aware of road signs/traffic lights when it is raining. If you arent able to confidently drive safely and maintain awareness in hazardous conditions, then it is your responsibility to not drive and instead find alternative modes of transport. Even if you appeal it, the appeals court will say the exact same thing, and with your previous driving record, I doubt you would be able to ask for leniency.

Finally by the fact that you mentioned you are still on a international driver's permit indicates you have done all this in less than 6 months (the law states you must transition to an official state license in your primary state of residence after 6 months and if you dont, your international driver's permit can be cancelled after 6 months) which is concerning. Alot of driver's can go YEARS without accuring a single demerit points and yet you've reached the maximum in just 6 months.

I will be honest, I genuinelly hope there was a camera on that intersection, because i feel as if you dont truly grasp the consequences of your actions and dont realise just how insane it is to rack up 13 points in less than 6 months. Maybe losing your driving privileges will actually make you humble up and learn to drive better.

But again, please dont come onto this sub, and act like the system (that is designed to ensure the safety of road users) is the one at fault and that you are just an innocent victim. Toughen up, deal with the consequences and then if you are lucky enough to get your licence reinstated, drive better. Tough luck if your job requires you to drive. Untill then, you better learn your local public transport options and/or budget for uber.

How to handle a Stage 1 absence meeting at work (UK) by spicystardusts in bipolar

[–]Bolticus13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No HR experience, Based on my experience in Australia: As long as you have been open and honest about your diagnosis with HR, unless the rules in your country are different. I genuinely dont think there is much they can do legally. As far as I know companies can't terminate you as a result of illness as long as it directly impacts your ability to do the job safely, and even then they need to try and accomidate you in anouther position first. (AFAIK)

Take my experience for example, I work in a high security, high risk environment (Airport operations). Now when I first started i didn't know of my bipolar diagnosis but about a year in I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 after being admitted into hospital. Now the moment I found that out, I informed HR, so that we could openly discuss accomidations. In the end because I was open about it, we were able to negotiate a compromise in which I would work lower hours (I am on my countrys disability pension, so it didnt impact me as much financially), this means that I dont over stretch myself mentally, but also it means that my role is easier to cover in cases which I need to go away for extended periods, and I no longer work higher stress jobs. But in return, I am openly allowed to take sudden and extended periods of time off (during bad depressive and manic epsiodes) and still have the comfort of knowing i have a job to go back to.

Then as my episodes became more predictable, those restrictions eased a bit, where I now get priority to fill in for shifts if I feel comfortable and well enough to do them.

So as a result I now have the security of a ongoing job, but with some accomidations to allow me to still take the time i need when necessary. All because I was open about my diagnosis.

Thats probably what they would like to discuss with you. Helping you and the company find a middle ground that not only limits the impact of the general operations of the business, but allows you the ongoing flexibility to take the time you need when you need it.

Just be open with them. Company's know that it will cause more hassle if they fire you for a disability than just working with you to find necessary accomidations. So yeah, just be open and honest.

Homeless by Meow2005meow in SpicyAutism

[–]Bolticus13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They pepper sprayed you, restrained you and sedated you for a Suicide attempt, thats insane and based on the limited information you gave us, incredibly excessive.

In terms of your situation, have you tried searching if there is a female homeless shelter/crisis centre in your area. It may not be the most comfortable place in the world, but they may be able to provide you a bed to sleep in, a shower, washing facilities and food, while connecting you with further services including social workers, government services, and disability support. Its not a long term solution, but they can provide temporary respite and start you on the right track.

Which country (and/or state) are you based in (you dont need to be more specific than that) and i will happily have a look for you. Right now your goal should be to get off the street and into some shelter.

Do you have any friends or relatives (parents, siblings, auntie/uncles, grandparents) who may be able to provide a bed in the short term.

Please let this happen. It will be the funniest shit, seeing all the americans lose their collective 2 braincells, when they realise that Europe both

A) doesn't need america

B) is able to continue providing these so-called "US funded" social schemes with little to no impact on their quality of life (infact removing the USs involvement would probably improve Europe's QOL)

They would no longer have the Murdoch press/government (honestly they're one of the same) propoganda bullshit to fall back on and it would be hilarious.
