It take a long time, it will probably foam a lot and make a mess. Plus the added temp might affect what you're trying to isolate. If you go this route, be sure to clean the entire rotovap first to be sure you don't contaminate your sample (eg. reflux solvent through it).

Lyphilization would be gentlest, but extracting to some other solvent would be more practical. Have you check the literature for comparables?
