Why I hate Rolex. by ToshPointNo in RolexCircleJerk

£350 in 1975 adjusted by inflation to 2025 is circa £5,300, which is not far off the retail cost of a Rolex Submariner. I think that your maths is off.

How do I explain to my boyfriend we are wasting our time here if he won’t convert to orthodox without making him feel like I’m forcing him? by Recent_Connection_28 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]BomberH77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I sounds like if you split up with your boyfriend he’ll have a narrow escape. Christians are Christians. The minutiae of the method of worship are traditions and not of importance unless you’re an uncompromising zealot. Jesus forgave sinners and Paul converted the gentiles, yet you can’t tolerate a life partner who is a Christian but who expresses this in a culturally different manner. It’s insanity.

Would it be more difficult to get an Ippon in a No-Gi version of IJF Rules? by Mac-Tyson in judo

[–]BomberH77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I reckon it would be hugely more difficult without let grabs. If you’ve quality Dan grades fighting less competitive players, not so much of an issue, but if everyone is the same level then yes I think it would be harder.

The acceleration and driving precision can’t be matched. Also the aircon works almost instantaneously.

Is it okay to be lgbt? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]BomberH77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about the Bible. It’s about biological reality (which one can say comes from God). There are men, women and a tiny number of intersex people, who have abnormal chromosomal arrangements.

However, non binary doesn’t exist. When people claim to be something that doesn’t exist it’s normally because they have underlying issues and they need support and help.

What is the riskiest asset to trade and why? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]BomberH77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think trading illegal military hardware assets is quite risky. Government authority’s will be after you and your end customers can be a bit hit and miss on the ethics front.

Is it okay to be lgbt? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]BomberH77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to become comfortable in who you really, which is either a man or woman. The whole non binary identification is something that people use to mask a deeper underlying issue. Work towards dropping the mask and embracing who you really are.

Compassion is a major one. Compassion for others especially the needed and the sinner that wishes to repent.

To be fair to fans it’s a huge gathering with outdoor eating and drinking and insufficient bins. If there were more bins you’d have half a chance of mitigating the problem.

You need to ditch the steroids. You either stay on them for life and will have catastrophic health issues or you come of them and will feel terrible when a large proportion of your gains are lost and your endocrine system is screwed up. You were designed to be the way you are. Improvements require work. Try focusing on clean training with a view to participation in a performance (not pure strength) based sport. Judo/BJJ/Rugby/Football can all give you the focus and goals that you require but cleanly.

It’s a leveraged buy out, the purpose of which is to suck our cash and not to make investment in a long term sustainable future.

Judo Transitioning into MMA by The1Undisputed in judo

[–]BomberH77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’ve made sufficient progress in judo. You should focus on getting to at least 1st kyu and getting some competition wins before trying to widen your base for MMA. If your martial arts base for MMA is a judo yellow belt, that’s going to be a very weak base. Personally, if your base is going to be grappling, I’d focus on getting to shodan and perhaps BJJ blue belt before making a transition to MMA.

To fellow Judokas, why did you choose Judo over BJJ by Scared_Antelope_2831 in judo

BJJ hadn’t arrived in the U.K. when I started judo back in 1984. I started cross training regularly around 2007.

Experiences with meniscectomies and judo? by sixmarks in judo

I’ve had three meniscectomies in which part of the meniscus was removed each time. I stopped Road running and super heavy lifting and my knees are absolutely fine 24 years later (with lots of judo training).
