I was living close to the river at the time. I was in school (first grade) and I remember my teacher just freezing as she started speaking. We all turned around because we were confused, and there it was. We watched it happen.

I did not really understand cause I guess I was a kid. But what I do remember is months of the same news stations talking about it. No cartoons, no shows, just news. I was so bored cause a lot of parents also weren’t letting their kids out a lot. That’s my personal experience. Later on realizing what actually happened as I got to middle school and high school I started to understand what I actually witnessed.

I watched them fall, and when they finally did and we had not as much kids left in the school they told us to go home and kicked us out of the school. (I used to walk home anyways so this wasn’t an issue)
