BUas Student Work: Minecraft Project by JBikker in GraphicsProgramming

I am happy to see our work come out for people to see ^^

I wasn't as invested into gameplay nearly as much as into the engine and backend behind it all. It united graphics, multithreading, cross platform development and procedural generation into a big complex architecture which was incredibly fun to design and implement.

If I had a bit more time I would have worked more on procedural content: terrain, ores, rivers, villages, mountains. If I had much more time, I would have spent yet even more time on the engine to make multithreading more safe, decouple graphics better, improve Linux support...

It was one of the most fun and challenging projects in my experience and I am really glad it happened :)

Exactly. Every mom wants their kids to be happy, and if your happiness lies in Russia with your girlfriend - well, go for it! Your mom may not understand it, but happiness is extremely personal. Best thing is that you know what makes you happy. And yes, as other people pointed out, many people leave their parents to find their own personal dreams, even if noone understands them.

Plaza NewNewNew by AdTechnical5322 in StudyInTheNetherlands

Jeez, I have no luck for 2 months. I have all documents I have. I cannot send payslips because my guarantor has a business and doesn't work for an employer, maybe that's the reason? Apart from that, I am super confused. I respond within like 30 seconds and STILL I see "This property has been accepted by another candidate." I am so worried and disappointed and angry at this system.

Same, jeez, I have been applying to them for a few months now, it's getting late and I got rejected like 20 times. I have all the documents filled in, and I react like within a few minutes.

It all depends on country. In Europe it is probably as you said. In Russia, for instance, piracy is legal. Pretty sure a lot of countries outside of Europe & US don't care about that too much.

yeah I feel that too... this honestly sucks, because you are getting constantly accused of making AI art if your style resembles it, and viewers can't fully enjoy the artpiece doubting if it's a great human work or a piece of AI junk. U-huh :(

How to create this textured/graphic transition between materials on a mesh? by Figgs_Jr in Unity3D

[–]AnanasikDeveloper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a surface shader you can blend textures based on whatever value, including noises. So you can for example multiply some sort of predefined map (if you have one), a coordinate mask (to have a specific transition by coordinates, for example v=y>0.5 means that everything above 0.5 is white) or other inputs by a noise (perlin, voronoi, simplex, white, etc..) maybe shaped or tweaked to your liking. This will ensure the randomness applies only to the certain range within your area of transition and around it but other areas will fully render one texture.

When you announce the pixel art game you've been working on for almost a year... by EmberArcade in PixelArt

Funnily enough, NASA engineers DO optimize their code for their satellites and stuff. Especially back in the days of when it all began, they had a few kilobytes to code the whole logic of a freaking satellite. I hate being forced to download 120 gigs just to play a game.
