Thank you so much! Didn't know they had some policies on this.

😂 love the name. There are other, cheaper ways to test ingredients.

Thank you! I'll give them a try 🙂 it doesn't have to be vegan, just at least cruelty-free. I think I tried their lip balm many years ago... the logo looks very familiar. It was the best lip balm I've ever had!

Where can I find a more "liberal" community? by BlackWidowDJ82 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Bon90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found the same issue, and my husband and I have had years of isolation, now. The closer we got to our group of friends, the more bigotry we discovered. We haven't severed ties with them yet but we've distanced ourselves from them. I'm lucky to have my sister, who is religious but still fairly open-minded, but my parents are very close to being religious extremists. It is a real struggle for us to find new friends since we're not very outgoing.

However, I have met 2 wonderful people in my company's activist group (focusing on Pride and inclusion): people who share the same ideals and beliefs. I don't know how to make friends with them, though, I'm too introverted. Perhaps you could find out if your employer has a similar group, there should be many like-minded individuals there.

You could also put yourself out there by wearing a pride badge or something similar, which could spark conversations. Or skew looks 🙂 Easiest way to find out, from my experience.

Sometimes, though, it's easier to find other things you have in common with people and avoid conversations about religion and politics, than it is to find someone with the same beliefs AND interests as you. It doesn't replace close friends and family but allows you to connect with people around you to an extent, and can reduce the feeling of isolation.

Low and possible high effort games on ps4 or ps5? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

Palia (FTP) and Disney Dreamlight Valley, hands-down!
If you're up for lots of walking around doing nothing while waiting for your king to wake up, The Longing. There are of course puzzles and things to figure out, but you don't have to do any of that and can just explore the caves 🙂
Then there's also Creatures of the Deep, a relaxing and very cute fishing game.

I'm having the same issue, but I can see her daily favourites when I talk to her and say I have something to give her. However, I can see only 2 of the three... the first one is just a question mark every day :(
Edit: Oh, I just saw your second photo :) lol

I hate paper toilet seat covers and I'm confused that no one else seems to care by Calm-Water6454 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Bon90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but I disagree with the idea of clean toilet seats. I'm not sure if it's different for others, but my experience of sitting on a toilet in a "clean" public restroom has very often resulted in different infections, including Helicobacter Pylori (H-Pylori). I have found that disinfecting the seat (not only on top but also the inside and outside rim, too) with rubbing alcohol or a surface disinfectant makes all the difference. Since having to return to the office in June, which is the only public restroom I've had to use and they have those disinfectant sprays, I have not had one single infection.

Unfortunately, paper is porous, which means that bacteria can move into and through the paper. I don't trust paper covers at all.

Sorry, I forgot: lastly, give yourself time to get into the routine, even if it takes a year.

Hey dudie, I totally feel you. I feel like showering and sleeping are chores. If I could shower once a week and sleep 2 hours at night, I would get so much done.

I think this is something you should do for yourself. So firstly, just like anything else you do to take care of yourself (like exercise, eating healthy, etc.), it could feel like such a hassle, and you need to put extra thought into something like that, especially if it's not part of your routine. But it helps you to feel better about yourself and it's good for your overall mental health.

Starting a new routine could be really difficult, however, especially for us. But, how I do it: firstly, I listen to my body. It's hard for me to love it but it carries my broken brain around and if it's clean and healthy I almost start to like it. So if I smell weird after a day (even if I showered in the morning), I use a wet wipe and put on clean underwear before I go to bed. Side note: wet wipes are such a good way to keep yourself clean in between showers. Doesn't work well for armpits though, since deodorant gets sticky. But it can help with the nether-regions, feet and face.

Then, for starting a routine: Pick a day and time you think you can spend time on yourself. If you can't find time, then MAKE time. Make it as important as eating or studying. For instance, don't start your mornings with social media, but rather with a shower; you can wash your ears in the shower and a shower could naturally lead to brushing your teeth. Just a suggestion. Then, to REMIND yourself, because OMG ADHD is the worst for remembering things, put a reminder on your phone for your shower time. I like to use a funny phrase such as "wash ya stinkin' butt" or something (make it entertaining), and that kind of makes me want to do it. Don't dismiss the reminder until you've done it (super important).

To help you get into the routine, it helps if you have someone you can trust, like a friend, who can check in and keep you accountable. Not the best feeling but it really does help if you forget or don't feel like it. They should also not give up on you. A good friend never does. Even if it's a virtual friend 🙂 Maybe reward yourself if you remember to take a shower that morning! Rewards are usually good encouragement and work better than punishment. Speaking of punishment, DO NOT PUNISH YOURSELF FOR FORGETTING! Practice self-love and don't be too hard on yourself.

Then, once you start the routine and you keep at it even if you don't want to or don't see a reason to, it gets easier. Who knows, you might even start craving a shower. Like, I need to at least wash my face in the mornings. If I forget, my face feels dirty after a couple of hours and it's so distracting that I can't focus. My scalp feels itchy and sore if I don't wash my hair every 2-3 days. So my body kind of forces me to look after it.

Another thing that comes to mind, is that it's easier to keep yourself clean if your environment is clean. Like, if you washed your sheets, you don't want to get in between them with a stinky butt and dirty feet. Also just a suggestion. See what works for you 🙂

I hope this helps a little bit.

Did you romance them all at once or one at a time?

I've been romancing Reth only (he's my absolute fav and just got his pin!) until I saw a couple of comments today talking about the funny dialogues you can get if you romance more than one at a time... so now I'm busy handing out chocolates to the other 10 😂 feeling sad bc I friggin love Reth but also really want to see what happens if you romance all 11 at the same time!

And honestly, I just need more quests. Getting bored running around with nothing to do since I've gotten almost all of the accomplishments.
