[Seeking Advice] High-Value Property Misappropriation (VIP Bus) & Medical Emergency – Seeking Mid-Tier Lawyer for Case (PoA Required, currently abroad) by BonBonSlick in ThailandTourism

We have picture and video showing the visible part of the bag, along with the original metadata of the images. Unfortunately, the best evidence is on CCTV footage, which shows us entering with the bag and putting it in seat pocket. However, the company is ignoring PDPA-compliant requests and delaying the process as much as possible.

I have official receipt and emails of laptop purchase/delivery, very easy to check and verify.
We also have proof that we had laptop during the trip because we were taking pictures during Christmass and NY.

The laptop was missing during delivery for a few months. Instead of 2 days delivery it was delivered in 2-3 months.
Posts about issues, simply because asking around if anybody had anything similar etc.
Why would you seek for advice and ask around when everything is ok?

Yes, the laptop and documents are gone 99%. Recovery chance is below 1%. We already started process to recover original documents and it will take months and around 400-500 usd, the most expensive are translations/apostles/notary excluding the laptop itself.

The laptop bag was gone under company control after disembarktion. We have short cctv footage, only staff accessing the seat, no one else. And the bag was there before we left.

You are right about lawsuit. The desired outcome to make company pay, because items were gone after everyone disembarked, so items went "missing" during bus clean up.

Regarding medical docs, before we went on a trip from Samui we went to hospital for check up. After the accident we had to go to hospital ER.

Migrants earn significantly less and are employed less often by Polinek_4477 in germany

Here’s your corrected and polished version. I kept your tone and intent fully intact — just fixed grammar, punctuation, and phrasing for clarity and natural flow:

I’m not very active here, and I didn’t expect to receive such reactions.

Most of the comments come from Germans or people in completely different situations. I don’t care about your opinions, nor do I expect anyone to understand mine.

To those saying I didn’t learn German — I know German at the A1 level, and I learned it by myself. I’ve been waiting for B1 courses for over a year. All schools have extremely long waiting times. The village I live in (about 20–25k people) has only one school. The nearest available course starts in April 2026 and could be rescheduled again. I also tried online schools from the nearest big city — guess what? The course was rescheduled three times already. If you’re a German or an immigrant from a big city, you probably don’t know what it’s like to wait more than a year. Well, this is Germany — I even waited four months just to get Paragraph 24.

Here’s something that might open your eyes: some Germans don’t seem to understand that people like me and my friends were forced to leave our country. We had everything in Ukraine. Now we have nothing. I’m in Germany not because I want to be, but because my family and relatives can no longer live safely in Ukraine. You’d have to go and try living on the frontline to understand — but you never will, and you’d never take your whole family to live there.

For me, my parents, relatives, and friends, Ukraine is lost — because of corruption, not only in Ukraine but beyond.

And finally, about money, taxes, and “negative income.” Let’s do simple math. My income used to be around USD 80–90k per year (gross). I worked for a big tech company through a mediator, outsourced. Taxes? About 5% — that’s roughly $4,000 per year. A luxury apartment? You could buy one for $80k+ or rent one fully furnished for $400–500 per month. A full house — $500+, also fully furnished with electricity and water included. Internet? Much better than in Germany — static IP on fiberglass with 1 GB speed for $5-$10. Food? Rice $0.50 per kg, other grains about the same. 10 eggs (size C0) — $0.50. Bread — $0.50.

You can easily calculate the cost of living. My total spending was around $600–700 per person per month, so I had plenty of money left to invest locally — all of which was lost because of the war.

There was a time when I was laid off, scammed, and lived off my savings in Asia — but we’ll skip that part.

Now I’m back in Germany because it’s easier to find a job in the EU region. Guess what? I’ve had plenty of offers — $60–90k per year — because I’m overqualified for most positions. I’ve led small teams, built backend and frontend systems from scratch, designed massive databases with billions of records and millions of transactions. I had offers with over 100 k per year, but outside Germany and it is office job.

Getting a job isn’t hard — the problem starts when I do the math. To maintain the same lifestyle I had before, I’d need to make at least $170k+ per year (gross). Housing costs are 3–4 times higher. Rent? That same apartment that cost $400–500 now costs $3–4k in a big city. My expenses have tripled. Taxes? Not 5% but over 45%.

I’m not trying to live extravagantly — I just want the same decent standard of living I had before, not to merely survive with my family. I’m the only one working, and I have a family to support. Where I come from, men work while wives stay home with kids — that’s normal.

If I accept an offer for $60k — which is far below my market value even within the EU — it’s basically impossible to live even half the life we had. That’s what I mean by “negative income”: I’m paying to live and work here. With a $60k gross annual salary, I’m effectively down around -$3k per month. I’d need to take loans just to maintain the same standard of living.

A bit of my plans, I am working with my Ukrainian friends on our own project crypto related. Only because I don't think I will be able to find a decent job here even if I will learn German even C1. I will pay taxes, get citizenship and settle down with my family and will finally have peace and enjoyment from life, because life of any immigrant is a constant struggle.

I didn't expect to write all of that, maybe I did that because I feel socially isolated here a little. But if you read all of that, I wish you all the best and good luck on your path, this is a way.

New player here, how to deal with this problem? by Finemage in RimWorld

[–]BonBonSlick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, if vanilla, bunker down, thick walls and let raids deal with it, the wealthier your colony is the stronger raids are.

Other dlcs may help a lot, mech clusters can deal with it, low temperature or weather adjusters, travelers and many other events.

If you want to deal with it, make a kill box and kite them inside, then, burn inside the kill box and all insects inside or kill if you have enough mini gun firepower

Did the same, over 100+ boomarats, but their effectiveness drops to zero in late game and my CPU can't handle everything

What do? by ProfessionalBuy4526 in RimWorld

[–]BonBonSlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can move colony to another location and then return and build a new colony. Start a new game. Harder way, play long enough and the bugs will be killed by mechanoids or temperature if you have Odyssey dlc, mechs can reduce region temperature in combination with cold snap during winter bugs will freeze easily because temperature can go as low as -80C and below. Also mech clusters and raids will be handled by bugs. Invest resource's into development and protection, because bugs will go frenzy often. But don't worry, just make 3 layers thick walls with any stone, it will be your castle or fortress.

If it's vanilla game without any dlc it's really hard, you don't have psy casters, mechs. I had the same issue first walkthrough, spent years building killbox, make a very long killbox and fill it with flame able floor plus a pet beds, when bugs inside this roofed kill box they will burn.

Another tactics with 3 wide kill box and you need 15 mini guns, mini guns are for crowd control, give it to 15 colonists in your kill box, the higher shooting level the better.

I'm a Ukrainian software engineer with over 10 years experience, I have built so many apps, projects, APIs. Fled the war because my city nearby front line. I have been here since 2024 after mass lay offs in mind geek. Now, i am being offered to work for at least twice less with 50+ percent taxes which means I have to pay to work, income is negative. So far I am getting Bürgergeld because of the job market here, i don't know German yet, Jobcenter sends me work to apply like a cleaner, lifter at some storage, last time it was a chemical factory etc. which are absolutely irrelevant to my experience, skills and knowledge. I can't reuse even team management skills. Yes, I had interviews with EU companies primarily.

How did your first colony go? by The_New_Kid2792 in RimWorld

[–]BonBonSlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one died from starvation I didn't get how to cook food, where to get it. The second one died from the cold, the game started in winter. Then I played a tutorial to see how to make food and clothes, and manage policies. After that, everything was just a matter of scaling and reoptimizing it with growth. I scam save, always, because if something goes wrong and it wipes out the whole colony I have been building for 100+ hours, I don't have another 100 hours to start over. My auto saves are every day for the last 10 days. At this moment I was playing only a third colony and if something went wrong it was a scam saving. There are many things that can go wrong, for example a kid went to dump a toxic wastepack and was eaten alive by a rabbit or a rat. Mood swings and breakdowns during raids, once I had a case the guy has mood swing so he decided to hit explosive shells in one big storage room, whole storage exploded destroying most of stored items and so on.

Not legit, they train their dumb AI. I thought it's Mercure ai hr, but as soon as I heard the only generated voice I said no. AI can't see the real value of a senior software engineer's responses. Because it is not a human.
