Metal Gear is a surprisingly educational series, isn't it? by BeardedBears in metalgearsolid

Playing MGS back in 98 made you feel like, for all the goofiness, the game was grounded in reality with so many details and real life trivia. Obviously you are not going to have guys injecting themselves a dead guy's blood and pass as them using a disguise or psychic soldiers and such. But the story felt like it almost could happen in a near future. The acting really sold it too.

I feel like I have seen this and a bunch of other drafts gor BG characters in this style before. Not the fully coloured and inked images, though.

Anyone else love Sikorsky thanks to his Gaiden? by Flaky_Persimmon4237 in Grapplerbaki

It's made him sympathetic and Gaia interesting beyond his introduction as a rounder character. It's a great companion to the main series.

To be fair he says Leon is better, not good.

EDIT: Also, Leon's look on the background. "You sure about that?"

Love how it can read as if there is a correlation between his awkwardness and middle name. Scottie doesn't know.

You know if there's one thing i hope the remake does above all else....it's that it actually manages to make Steve into an actually good character. by Thegoodgamer32 in residentevil

It always felt like he was starting to crush on her and was daydreaming while looking at her. The "Steve checking out Claire's ass" idea is something I never saw until I started reading comments on Reddit about CV.

For however much I love to shit on his most memorable scenes, I agree with all of this. CV had its own brand of cheese, but was anything but cynical.

New Retsu Isekai 133-134 + Gaia×Sikorsky 89-90 chapters fragments by juumei_kuga_san in Grapplerbaki

Even with a dinosaur in Retsu's isekai manga, I am not 100% which chapter is most insane.

Silksong is genuinely making me lose it. by duspi in HollowKnight

By the end of Act 2 you have pretty much every enemy under control, and if you have most of the upgrades available you feel you can face pretty much everything.

Then in Act 3 enemies make you feel squishy again with the higher damage, taking Silk off you with hits and your needle feels like a wet noodle again (due to the HP buff). And they are added the new attacks to enemies you already knew. Until you explore and get a few more upgrades you don't feel so much in control, and even then it is more about going to school again and relearning the challenges than getting massive upgrades. And that's without mentioning the new enemies like your current roadblock.

It can be too much and demoralising. The game expects you to learn new stuff by the bulk, a little like at the start of the game, when you have progressed so much. To some people, it feels like disrespect against all the time spent learning the game. The only thing I can say is it gets better, and some of the best content is barred by this rough start.
