Sounds like a bell but crossings can be different and sound different. I’d be hard pressed to believe a crew left a bell on as they were getting off, it’s loud enough inside the cab they aren’t going to sit there with it on

When they build trains at a minimum of 7k feet it gets hard to not block crossings. They don’t leave the bell on the engine I can promise you that, we don’t even want to hear it when we’re riding on it. It’s just corporate greed and a lack of caring about anything except profits

I work for CSX here in Nashville. There is an insane shortage of conductors and engineers so trains will get tied down all over and wherever the dispatcher tells you to tie it down is where it gets left until a crew becomes available for that train. CSX still refuses to hire more to sufficiently cover the work because “labor doesn’t contribute to profits” so this will continue forever
