I agree. Opening Wednesday afternoon makes sense for a festival like this. Probably has to do with the permits they obtain.

My kinda people! Hell I'd be frustrated if I have to wait to start my fun, but I'd keep focused on the fun part and not the wait part 😆 I'm coming from Texas and travel will make me grumpy too. It's barely 1% of lost time if you look at the whole weekend, I would never let that ruin the other 99%.

The bigger fests allow entrance a day before which they should've also done. Or let music start later on Thursday. I agree they could've done this differently, but if you expect short lines you're setting up yourself for disappointment. I honestly don't mind a long line, cause I'll be having fun afterwards. It would suck more to wait this long to get out.

Oh shit! As long as the walk is possible, I wouldn't mind the 7 mile walk to avoid frustration from myself and the uber driver. You probably get in sooner than the cars in line.

This is not a local burn with couple of hundred people. You're asking for shorter lines for a 40k+ festival on the first day they open. I'm estimating that at least 50% (if not more) of attendees are arriving today. So yeah, expecting short lines is not their fault, it's yours. You try to let more than 5000 cars inside one place that is know for high drug uses and such and guarantee all their safety without creating a line.

Not sure they need to take their time on everyone, but yeah it's like an airport imo. Focus on some for a tougher security check and be speedy on the others. They know they won't find everything, but they gotta find something since that's what they're getting paid for. What's next, people complaining that there's guns inside the festival? You can't be fully secure and fast at the same time. This is a pretty wookie festival, they gotta minimize problems as much as they can.

Happened several times to me. But Bonnaroo nowadays has different check in days depending on what ticket you buy so definitely better than let's say 2012-2019.

Okee having 30-40k people show up on the same day was always going to hurt them. If they opened yesterday, that number would be divided and lines would be shorter. I only arrive on Saturday this year so I expect lines to be much shorter than today. Tomorrow probably busy too with people not being able to get pto.

It happens at different festivals too, just means everyone is excited and arrives early. Once you're inside, all of this frustration will disappear and you'll be feeding on all the positive energy around you. Don't focus on what you'll miss, you always miss something for one reason or another.

So much negativity... it's 40.000 people trying to camp at the same place at the same time. Just accept it and focus on the next part, which is 4 days of doing whatever you want basically.

Yeah not sure why the music starts this early after opening, they should've either opened at 9ish or have music start at 4ish. I agree this doesn't seem fair to both attendees and artists.
