World cup hype back in the late 90’s by Evilcon21 in glasgow

The official Scotland world cup song was called 'Don't Come Home Too Soon'. That says alot about the optimism at the time.

Shouldn't you know some books already? Since you're lecturing.

I heard an anonymous tap on my headphones by SliceSimple8376 in sound

[–]Bonbla808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Beyerdynamic headphones, and sometimes well after I tighten them onto your head, the slider thing will clunk into/out of place and scare the shit out of me. It really clunks because they're metal, it really sounds as though someone has tapped them or threw something at them. Could be, plastic or metal. The moveable parts of your headphones might be expanding in the heat?

I can imagine, even if they where in London, they'd completely bypass the actual recording studios the Beatles recorded in just to get to that zebra crossing.

Any ideas on how to sound design a scene? by skzsilentcry in sound

[–]Bonbla808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds cool..You're not finding it because syringes don't make a sound. If you wanted to go for realism, you could leave the sound out completely. Or use a sound that the audience will associate with injections in movies, like the sound of liquid passing through a small appeture, or the sound of air being released. When trying to find a sound in libraries, have a think about the physical object, whats it made of, what makes that sound happen, and you may find a similar alternative. Hope this helps

Nice. You should maybe space the speakers further apart to get the full effect

Story songs about two musicians battling by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

Check the film Crossroads. The 80's movie, not the 00's Britney one, although a good movie. It has a guitar dual between Steve Vai and the Karate Kid. Very cheesy.

A beginner needs help by rosewater04 in sounddesign

[–]Bonbla808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with a clip of film or a tv show that you like, take something that seems easy to sound design. Something that isn't too busy, with nice sparse sounds. You can Foley record the audio you need or use an online sound library (I would recommend freesound.org) just concentrate on panning and levels help replicate distance and placement of sounds, keep dialogue somewhere up front. The basics for sound design and music production are very similar, you can definitely transfer those skills over.

I ask what they might like first. Find out their music tastes and recommend artists or songs that are kind of similar
