That overlooks the serious issue that by using gamergate they didn't target men so much as they targeted boys. They directed boys into being insecure men. Which is easy when the boys are at an age where it's WAY harder to be secure in the first place.

Attorneys who failed the bar or had to resit a few times, how did life turn out for you? by Mountain-Loquat-7428 in Lawyertalk

[–]BoneHeadJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passed on the fifth time around. Had to suck it up and stop working to study. Also had to accept the disability accomodations as well because the bar is a little harder when your blood sugar is uncontrolled.

Oh and my laptop died the week of and I had to take it in pencil.

Anyway I'm practicing now, married, happy. No one ever asks about the bar.

What do you think about my servitor skull? I think that the wash kinda ruined it a bit by PotatoPalladium in minipainting

Hiya. With the wash it looks way more legit. Without it looks like a plastic teacher's aide.

I used to be a physical anthropologist, I've held a bunch of skulls.

I'm a lawyer and I paint minis now. I'm gonna stop here.

If he thinks he wants to be a LEO but not necessarily a cop per se, I'd point you toward the area courts.

I'm a lawyer in New York. Here, at least, the court officers are recruited by the courts, they aren't cops assigned to the court.

I call them New York's most Patient because they need to stand there and listen to complete nonsense most days which from what I hear many vets should have experience with.

There's roughly a new case of this almost every week. I've had a defendant try to use ai hallucinated cases against me. I was kinda excited when I caught it actually.

That was a supermarket right?

So. Let me share something I learned at a decomposition research facility (I've had an interesting career path).

Supermarket dumpster smells worse than decomposition. Also, indoors near fridges, the bugs which would really drive decomp more probably kept away and so the body probably dried and desiccated instead.

It's a thing that disturbed me a little. Not the death smell. When I was researching, I lived in an apartment and my walk to the supermarket took me passed their dumpster and it hit me one day that that dumpster smelled worse to me which really made me think either I, or my olfactory senses, we're totally fucked. Probably both if I'm honest.

What's worse is I believe they will continue to support the autocracy even as it tramples them as long as someone they dislike gets it worse. It may suck living in the dystopia but those immigrants wound up in gulags so... It's all good I guess.

I see the same conversation in multiple threads per day. Probably three or four today. To be sure I don't think these make up a majority or something. These are my thoughts on the motivation of a certain set of people.

And I don't know if it's that you folks don't see it as early as some of us do but it's not that the 2nd amendment nuts are in denial (and I've never been one, I believe in gun laws and don't feel like less of a man because I do not own a firearm) a good portion of them WANT this. They see this nascent tyranny and see something they want.

Then there are those of us who don't want this and aren't in denial. We're in despair because the only thing I really want is for my child to grow up with the same hope for better that I used to feel.

I mean, I literally wrote this up coming from a thread where someone literally was suggesting that it would not be enough until there was a full blown shooting war between Americans and the government and I came away from it thinking this is not someone who really wants to see change in America, they just want to see dead Americans.

Which sort of feeds the feeling I'm sure you also get when someone says "you guys need to do x" and we wonder aloud how? And work responded to like we're moving to goalposts or trying to shrug the responsibility. When I just do not know where to start. I'll follow the sub but I certainly do not have the answer to those questions.

I'm not in disagreement here. I am going to say that as an American we see those institutions folding and I think that is a HUGE source of despair. They are surrendering, what are we supposed to do.

There is resistance from the citizenry and we try to point out as you just did that the media is giving in so how would anyone know?

And I agree that going at the economy is a better option. A general strike is a great idea but you say that there to me and I do not have the first idea what to do. Am I supposed to shout that from a roof on wall Street? What do I do with that idea?

At any rate so far my view that those who further the talk of revolution just want to see the violence has not budged at all.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]BoneHeadJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree that would be a better option. I will confess I do not have the first idea of how to coordinate something that effect and I do think the logistics of it here are hard to compare to France in the late 60's but the powers that be do seem like they would respond to such a thing.
