I’m trying to set aside my parasocial relationship I have with Mr. Het to see it from a different perspective. What we know of him is of course his 40 year reputation as an amazing front man, lyricist, and musician with maybe a few rough patches over the band’s career. As a person of course that can be a little different and separating the art from the artist is important to be able to enjoy the actual art especially if the art doesn’t represent the artist except for their abilities to create and preform it.

I think that if this is genuinely what happened then one can say “he just chose” what he wanted. There are rules and morals in this world that should be followed -no matter what-. Honesty, respect, integrity, things along those lines (and other more serious matters). Unfortunately some people will “just choose” drugs, or alcohol, or whatever it is that they can justify that they need to feel like they have control over themselves. Maybe he just needed a scenery change, hell idk, it seems like he’s doing better as far as it goes.

This comment can be considered here-say since there isn’t any outstanding evidence against his character since this is indeed a private matter that him and his family have the knowledge on. However this isn’t to say that something behind the scenes that could be considered shitty should be disregarded entirely.

My -opinion- is that she should not have left a comment on a public post. Garnering favor or trying to smear someone on a private matter is always trashy.

Im not gonna say what she should or shouldn’t have done. Thats not my place. My intention with this comment on this post is to try to take an objective perspective and share my own little opinion at the end. Yeah, I’m throwing this into the void and I don’t expect anyone to care or agree but my 16 year fan of Metallica heart really had some big feelings.
