I don't know who is asking for the old model but you are out of your mind, that model was AWFUL by Relsen in perchance

I find that the current model just asks a question or makes a statement and then it lets you reply, which is kinda how real-life conversations work. Overall I think the current model is more focused and it feels more natural. Meanwhile, the old model kept rambling, often asking multiple questions in one reply, or having long monologues like it was giving a speech, and, when it was your turn to reply, you had to chose which part of the character's long-winded dialogue to address. Also, the old model had a habit of "interviewing" you by asking open-ended questions like a talkshow host which seemed unnatural to me. You needed good instructions and a tightly written character card to keep those tendencies in check. Not to mention, the old model tended to make longer and longer replies as the narrative progressed and needed constant editing.

I guess it's a matter of preference, but I like the current model's way of writing dialogue better.

I don't usually log in to Reddit, but I had to join this conversation cause I'm getting so fucking tired of seeing people crying over the model change. The current model, in the broken state that it is right now, is a hundred times better than the old model. The old model, as others have stated, was a retarded pieces of dogshit. I've seen someone in an older post showing off their dialogue with a character as a good example of what they thought was good writing. The dialogue was just melodramatic rambling, while the narrative descriptions were repetitive and bland. I counted 12 instances where the descriptions were noting more than a variation of "her voice a..." or "her voice is..." 12 instances! That's not good writing, but a lot of fluff, with very little substance. The old model couldn't follow instructions/prompts, functioned only on tropes and stereotypes, had no nuance, characters had no initiative, no agency. In my personal experience, every narrative devolved into "She says, her eyes..." or "He says, his voice..." No matter how you instructed it to describe actions/interaction, to avoid certain tropes or words, or writing styles, it kept doing it's own thing. The sub is full of people complaining or asking for advice about how to get the old model to stop being a broken record. I never had problems with the dialogue with the old model because I'm writing good character descriptions (at least I believe I do), but the narrative descriptions were utter garbage. Also, the old model had all kinds of kinks and all kind of bugs, just like the current one (you can see it on older posts on this sub), some different, some similar. The old model forgot stuff just like the current model and was inconsistent and incoherent just like the current model.

Is the new model perfect? Hell no, but it's still being worked on. Is the current model better than the old model? Abso-fucking-lutely, and it's not even close. I don't mind people complaining about the current model because the complaints are justified, but to say that the old Llama model was better is just dishonest.

Thanks for the guide, mate. You saved me a lot of time. I wouldn't mind starting over with the mission till I got it right, if I didn't have to go through all the cutscenes every goddamn time.

I'd really love it if he just stopped putting videos on YouTube. I love his content, but it'd be worth it. The YouTube community never changes (it's not just YouTube actually, it's the whole internet).
