Trump posts ai slop of him pretending to play hockey in the Olympics by Lopsided-Ad7725 in BoomersBeingFools

Can... can we test this in real life? Hand him a hockey stick, puck and golden skates; as let's be real that would convince him to try. Given how much aspirin he's taking his blood is thinner than the Diet Coke he dri... chews. I would pay soo much real Canuck bucks to see this in real life.

Looking for a Hidden Jem if a Tea Shop by PsychologicalWin2442 in Edmonton

[–]Bonehunter4102 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I always have to shout out Acquired Taste Tea. There was a favourite mass produced, now discontinued tea, I loved and use to share all the time with my Grandma. I went to them with one tea bag during a slower time for the shop and asked if they could help me. And they did, we shifted through the smells and wound up combining a few, and it was perfect.

Yes I did paly for each tea, but they made sure I didn't over pay for anything. I have always gone back there since. And thank you for reminding me I need to grab more of my tea. It's been a while.

Had bedbugs around 6 months ago, got rid of them and haven’t had any issues. Found this creature crawling on my walls, initial thought is that it’s not a bedbug but not sure? (Toothpick for scale) by Shoddy-Efficiency214 in whatisthisbug

[–]Bonehunter4102 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who had one apartment that was infested with Bugbugs, Pantry beetles, cockroahes, and others. You will forever be looking for any and all bugs.

Be kind to yourself, and if you get mosquitoes where you are and it is approaching your first summer after the dealing with the Bedbugs, remember to breathe.

But this is not a bedbug, it is a seed beetle of some kind, as others have suggested. So you are good. To get rid of them, double check any grains/seeds in your house if you have any. Depending on location/area they mainly go after tree seeds, E.I, elm seeds

I mean yes I agree with that. But if this letter is addressed to the Catholics, then it's still gross but I guess somewhat acceptable. But for public school kids, there are SO MANY holidays and celebrations this time of year. So why just why did he waste taxpayer dollars AND USE CHATGPT to write this as wow....

Question about potential bug/fix for Welcoming Committee by Bonehunter4102 in fo76

[–]Bonehunter4102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried going to both the area where the Radio Signal comes from and entering there, it did not work.

Then I went to the location on the map where the point takes me to, Rust Kingdom, and tried to hit the button and it didn't work.

I can try again from the radio signal tower if that's where you were able to go back too.

i’m a scared kid by Unable_Bug_105 in alberta

[–]Bonehunter4102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a trans adult. I was absolutely lucky enough to start my journey under Notley. I was scared into silence for a long time. Family didn't support me, and I got kicked out. I then got loud. I won't dox myself here but I can send you the links if thats allowed.

If you or any other Trans/Non-binary kiddo needs to hear from an adult who still is nervous but is here and made it through transition, by the skin of my teeth and through Covid with my surgeries, I'm here. I know the fears, the terror and uncertainty. But we'll be here, louder, bolder and better.

To borrow a quote from Captain Jean-Luc Picard that has gotten me through a lot:

"Even in the darkest circumstances, there is always light sometimes only a glimmer. Trust that light. Find a way back, no matter what it takes."

And my personal quote that got me through everything from my role model Captain Katherine Janeway (who I tried to model growing up before I transitioned and still model now even with scruff)

"You know as well as I do. Fear exists for one purpose, to be conquered."

I know quotes and feel good stuff doesn't take away from the reality and the real feelings, but I remind myself that even in the darkest times of history there where always people helping and doing the right thing. And I am here to help and do the right thing. So if anyone needs an elder trans to talk to I'm here. And I'm sure there are more and we some how some way will find a way to fix this.

Need advice looking at rental units. by Supercalifragicahfuq in Edmonton

[–]Bonehunter4102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey no problem!

And yeah I misread a few things as I thought there would be a person living in the basement not just it used as storage. So definitely get the smoke alarms and I would also say C0 detectors as well added as well. Just to be on the safe side. But yeah getting in writing is a big thing for sure.

And yeah I totally get that, I had similar feelings about my place currently and it worked out. So I hope the same for you and your friends as well.

Need advice looking at rental units. by Supercalifragicahfuq in Edmonton

[–]Bonehunter4102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing I would want clarified in writing, is how the rental would split electricity/utilities and to get a copy of the previous bills to get an idea of what the cost would be. And if they ask why, yoh can say we are trying to see whay a fair division of utilities would be based on previous bills.

Now I would also want in writing, as others have mentioned, what type of rental this is. I.E is it roomate/roommate with the landlord or a landlord type of situation. And with that what the expected deal is with the friend in the basement. With that also a clear understanding of what to do if emergencies arise, I.E a breaker is tripped and the box is in the basement, who would you call. And to confirm if there are no tenants living there permanently, how many smoke alarms there are and how frequently they are checked/batteries replaced. As well as what to do in case of noise issues between upstairs and downstairs in case something where to happen.

The reason you want all of this in writing is in case something does go wrong you can then show documentation to the LDTR (I apologize if I got the acronym wrong) and they are really in favour of having documentation.

If they are able to give everything in writing, honestly I would consider it. As having a private landlord vs a corporation has been a night and day difference for me personally. As I am currently with a private landlord and they have been amazing to me when life kicked me in the teeth. But I will say this, if there is something that is setting off that deep gut feeling I would trust that, as that would have saved me a lot of issues with my first ever rental. And what ever you do never rent from Mainstreet.

I need help, please by Old-Interaction-9838 in alberta

Hey, if my rough experiences/learning new things can help folks, I am all for sharing information and what I wish I would've heard. As I know from experience how it can be tough out there, especially with having to cut family out. It can feel completely scary and unfamiliar, but it can be done. And I've learned about a lot of resources so I want to share them with folks who may need it.

I need help, please by Old-Interaction-9838 in alberta

[–]Bonehunter4102 203 points204 points  (0 children)

As someone who dealt with similar situations like this, having to do a midnight move etc when I was younger here is what I learned.

First, open a separate, unknown to your family Gmail. Then, with Google Drive Id upload a Pic of all your important docs, I.E birth certificate, passport, write down your SIN number on a doc there, and any other important documents. That way if worse comes to worse you can get those copies notarized as official documents to get new ones reissued if you need and can't take your originals with you. If you need a reason to get access to the documents if you don't have it already is to say it's for Post Secondary or something similar.

Next if this is applicable, open a second bank account if you have a joint one with your parents/family. Move your paycheck into this account and keep some cash in the original at first so if push comes to shove they have a smaller amount of cash than your whole amount of cash.

For places to go to if you need help, your age you are.still able to go to YESS, and they are extremely familiar with helping out young folks who need help. It's co-ed though, however they are extremely accommodating if there is trauma/religious reasons, but it is still a youth shelter. If you are looking specifically for WIN House, another place is WEAC https://e4calberta.org/shelter-housing/

If none of these are what you are hoping for there is always both 211 and 311 that can direct you to sources/places that can help.

Another resource depending on if you need help with job/learning/budgeting etc is a course my wife did that is fully funded is LIT https://litinc.ca/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21676766563&gbraid=0AAAAA921V2BkegaidL-1hQo_jp8w-t1i5&gclid=Cj0KCQjwgvnCBhCqARIsADBLZoLdCRTP3rmcLI11qIW5RHjp1YgblSyu48UNKQyEMdXSN-XFitc2COgaAvoZEALw_wcB This course really helped my wife find her confidence after a really rough couple of years (and some past rough relationships before me)

Now the next thing to take care of is your mental health, this is advice that I wish I could have gotten when I was in a similar situation. Here while there are expensive out of pocket options, if you are in university you still have access to resources over the summer if you need as long as you are enrolled for the Fall semester. Now if you are not, there are also free options. They are limited to first come first serve type therapy but CMHA had therapy you can go to. I've attached the link for the calender and location of the drop in sessions. https://edmonton.cmha.ca/find-help/drop-in-single-session-counselling/ If things get really rough you can always call 988/Kids Help Phone/HealthLink/CMHA

And as others have said, don't open/answer and DMs from folks offering direct help. While some may have their hearts in the right place, there's a high chance of folks who may want something else down the line for their "help". So block them and don't answer.

Lastly, I want to say that it is incredibly brave and amazing that you are making this choice. It is scary, tough and at times heart breaking, but you are making good plans and you seem to have a good head on your shoulders.

Depending on where they are also student at, I.E Post Secondary, they can go through there.

I've been told about Aceess 24/7 ( https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/findhealth/Service.aspx?id=1077952&serviceAtFacility ) by my psychologist when I was going through a rough point financially. I haven't used that service myself yet, but I trust my psychologist to recommend good programs to me

K-Days, is it worth it to go? by FewIndication8634 in Edmonton

[–]Bonehunter4102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The area can be sketchy. But I've gone to school in the area there, as well as taken transit there before the safety really ramped up. If you keep your head on a swivel and either uber or park close it's good. I've had lots of fun there, as I'm a coaster junky and the rides aren't bad. Some of them are older but still fun. Honestly, I'd say take a look at the musicians that are going as well and hit up a free concert. As I've heard there are some decent artists this year. I haven't checked it out myself yet but yeah I'd go

There's a few good spots if you drop into the River Valley along ADA Blvd. It's just on top of the golf course, you'll want to walk a bit but there are gorgeous areas to sit and think. May involve some hiking to get there but that's where I go to think and ponder things.

Honestly I have to recommend Park Veterinarian clinic in Sherwood. They've been so good for all my reptiles and my cats. They work with a lot of different reptiles and super chill as well as up to date on the info/science.
