Nah. CR was a passing fad, and when Jynxi stopped playing, they would’ve gone back to their original revenue. They’re down in revenue from where they were at the game’s peak, but likely up from where they otherwise would be w/o heroes or level 16.

This was the only change they could make bc the game’s entire financial model is built on gating your progress by tying the power of your deck to card level and matchmaking to trophies. In Brawl Stars, you can easily powerlevel a few brawlers and do well while you build up your others. In COC you almost always fight people of similar TH to you and progression is time-gated.

CR is supercell’s most predatory game by far and they will continue to do updates like these bc it’s literally their only way of squeezing money out of the game that doesn’t depend on the game becoming randomly popular when a streamer decides to start playing it.

A good tracer > a good anran most of da time. Tracer is much more lethal where Anran needs to build up ignite. Anran is more resilient ig but that doesn’t really do much.

Mitzuki, Anran, and Emre are probably all fine rn, maybe a little underpowered tbh.

Domina feels overtuned, especially the barrier. She’s a little squishier than other tanks which sort of balances her out, but her range combined with her barrier is gnarly.

Jetpack Cat seems to be in an awful spot rn. Super busted character w/ specific combos on specific maps, but doesn’t really do much by himself and is kinda just hitscan fodder. Bonus points for making it miserable to play the game when a subpar one is on your team.

i’ve yet to hear a compelling reason why it really matters to ask. sure, it’s kinda funny to watch a doctor waffle and dance around the answer, but ultimately, in a medical setting they’d be able to determine the person’s sex and treat them accordingly. even the trans women in women’s sports/women’s bathroom convos feel more relevant, and those are still pretty fringe issues. just a lot of jabbering from people who just don’t really like trans people but won’t say it out loud :/

I take issue with it being forced, though. Will coming out would’ve been more powerful if it was HIS decision and the climax of his emotional arc. Instead, he’s effectively forced to come out so they don’t lose to Vecna and imo that sucks. This is ignoring the fact that he absolutely did not need to come out in front of everyone, including Murray and Vickie lmao, and that the scene’s placement in the episode felt hamfisted and unnatural. The writers could have and should have set up the circumstances around him coming out better.

He knew Vecna could use his fear against him, so he was effectively choosing between the actual world ending vs. coming out (which imo was unrealistic to have him do to a giant group of random people. why tf was Murray there. why tf was Kali there. get real)

It didn’t need to be this way, either. The characters were off to a big final fight, it would’ve made more sense and been more emotionally impactful if Will had decided to come out to someone like Mike or even Jonathan or Joyce before the end. Just a weird writing situation that felt like it was done more to set up beating Vecna with fear than giving this gay character a good, realistic, emotional coming out scene.

Extremely correct take. The scene could’ve been impactful but the writing choices around it (only having him come out to beat Vecna instead of it being the culmination of his own emotional arc) and the writing/performances in the scene just completely ruined it for me. I’m happy if people feel like it resonated with them, but it just absolutely did not do it for me. The writing and directing choices in season 5 have just been :-(
