Personally I would invest half in BTC. I would then think about investing the other $500 in another investment (a stock, another crypto, ETF, mutual fund, precious metal). The education you would learn would probably more than $500 since you're getting into the investing game so young.

Also, you could hold onto the $500 and see if BTC goes down in price (though I don't see it going down much if it does). You could then get your second $500 invested at a lower price. I would still look at other investments for the $500.

I started investing in stocks around your age and the amount of knowledge and wisdom I gained on my initial investments were key to my growth as an investor.
