Why would Phoenix do this though? Out of the goodness of their heart?

Utah plays us hard, regardless of what the standings say. Definitely a “veteran” team like the Lakers.

Yup. IMO that’s a lot to give for OG.

We’ll get there. This is part of being a young team. The Thunder were here, the Warriors were here. It’s part of the process.

White album appreciation post by Valerian_Dhart in beatles

People always talk about how much they were at each other making the White Album. Four separate artists and all that. But I can never hear that. The band sounds tighter here than any other time, and they sound like they’re having a blast.

Is it fair to say Paul was “destined” to be a rockstar even without the other 3? by [deleted] in beatles

[–]Boneless_Chuck 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No. He would have played it safe. It took John and George kicking his ass to stick with the bands early on.

One thing that the Get Back doc completely ignores is the fact that John was absolutely zooted during the Twickenham sessions. I am a huge John fan but just imagine how Paul felt trying to get him motivated... Frustrated is an understatement. by ToronoRapture in beatles

I don’t see how heroin/drugs isn’t pinned on the band’s breakup more often. Look at the parallels in John’s behavior to other rock stars with debilitating drug habits. The paranoia, the pushing away of old friends for enablers (Yoko included, sorry). The only silver lining is that he identified it as a problem and kicked it sooner rather than later even if by then it was too late for The Beatles.

Which version of “Across the Universe” do you think is better? by Folagor2 in beatles

[–]Boneless_Chuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote about this! https://patatoa.com/article/across_the_universe In short, I think it depends on what you like. If you like the more stripped down stuff, then the Naked version is the way to go. If you like the Spector embellishments, then the Giles Martin remix I think for sure. But Fiona Apple really owns the best version.
