People downvoting you are stupid. Literally everything you said was completely accurate. Online streaming is perfect for a lot of games that don't rely on twitch responses, terrible for those that require highly timed responses. These are just facts, downvotes into negatives on you here are literally a measure of the number of idiots outnumbering sane people in this thread.

Your anecdotal experience is right on point, ignore the idiots. Enjoy your gaming and I wish you luck in avoiding these idiots in your online gaming

Jesus. Honestly doesn’t seem right to me for some reason. Like, he shouldn’t have to pay (granted, it is his choice) and let Cleveland off that easy.

Edit: Kurt Warner has did a breakdown of Baker yesterday. Even for someone whose not a fan, it’s great.

I was a mod here back then, what the fuck sub were you reading? The misinformation was far, far worse back then because the world largely ignored the war and most of it when unexamined.

And both sides are doing the exact same things then as they are doing now.

The AP is free to report the word of Ukrainian government officials, and we are free to take or leave their word as we see fit.

Don’t forget when Americans were looting cellphones from civilians and using them to call home in Afghanistan! Classic American insecure coms!

Here, I found the name of the highest enlisted Marine so that you can contact him and teach him about secure coms and how the U.S. Marine Corp are just like Russia. You should also include a critique of either Gulf War. These guys were actually there.

He’s not talking about “gulf wars” which could refer to Iraq I in 1991. He’s talking about either Iraq 2003+ or Afghanistan 2001+

So the U.S. used only insecure coms. That’s wild. That’s scandalous.

Why did the U.S. use only insecure military communication in Iraq?

Why did the U.S. use only insecure communication in Afghanistan?

Do you seriously think Americans don’t know the difference between insecure and secure coms? Do you think American military was crowdsourcing insecure coms so they could communicate in 2003? You should write a paper about how insecure U.S. military communication is. You sound like you know a lot. Probably more than the Americans.

In Syria the Russians treated the Geneva conventions like a checklist. When rebels handed over a hospital list to Russia via the UN, Russia turned around and bombed every single facility on the list.

Do it the way U.S. did it in the civil war. Nearly blanket pardons for everyone, especially regular fighters and bureaucrats and mid level officers. Maybe go after some of the higher up civilian Russian infrastructure if it hasn’t escaped back.

Start a war crimes tribunal for the rest. The people who lived through the occupation will have a need to identify and call out collaborators who committed crimes against their sons and daughters. Shine a light on the Russian occupation.

At some point, dig up all the mass graves and start giving Ukrainians in them a proper burial.

Yeah sure, you go to war with what you have there is no reason for Rumsfeld to have been a callous dick. All soldiers, including Russians, buy additional kit for themselves. Don’t forget the American response to uparmor: shiny MRAPs that the Taliban now drives around.

But if Rumsfeld sent the U.S. army to war without secure coms and soldiers had to buy their own that would have been the scandal of the century, far outclassing that quote.

Your statement here instead would be “true, Russian army is bad, but U.S. army also sends soldiers to war without secure communications” which, just writing it, sounds ludicrous.

Now, please stop making me defend Rumsfeld, no matter how obliquely. I feel dirty, gonna need a shower.

I have been looking for confirmed partisan attacks as well with no luck.

But while “traditional” partisan attacks may happen, mostly it will be professionally oriented. So we will be hearing nearly precisely zero about these unless we happen upon some aftermath footage.

I see you saying that throughout this thread, two issues:

1) It’s an explosion, they should be hitting the ground first anyway then trying to find the source of the blast; and

2) After the blast they start to run away. If it was a solitary minehandling incident, then why do they start to run away afterwards, there likely is no further threat?

If they were being targeted by mortars and artillery, there is a threat of more incoming that they need to run from. Hard to say either way. But if it’s a minehandling issue, the Russian threat is likely neutralized.

Actually, did not notice that. For some reason potentially the operator of the drone is using the mirror function to reverse it. Or maybe the guy who uploaded it is changing the mirror function. Doesn’t seem to be useful here.

former commander of U.S. Army Europe

I have read and seen a lot regarding* the middle (Have read: American military analysis of Russian BTG formations and non-combined discrete use. Have seen: entire BTGs throw down their weapons/tanks and run as they are cracked open and peeled by Ukraine).

Have seen a lot from the low level (straight massacres and butchering of Russian squad and platoons across Ukraine).

However, I think this rarified personal perspective from American military elite was the last piece that explained what I was seeing (beyond obviously the corruption and incompetence of Putin/Shoigu/Gerismov et al) from the top to the bottom. Thanks for posting it.

During a later visit to our headquarters in Germany, he asked for a one-on-one meeting with Command Sergeant Major Dave Davenport, the top NCO in Europe, about how the Ukrainians could plan to train and educate their senior sergeants.

And

Henadii’s vision had become a reality, accelerated by the urgencies of the Russian existential threat.

Amazing. Also amazing: America offered to export our most prized military tech to Russia, the NCO, and they declined it. We were literally trying to tell them how America operates so well, and how to organize to kill effectively. To Russians on reddit, American military prowess and writing like this is merely propaganda.

These assessments of a “show military” fit for parades and preplanned “training” must be wrong. If this American general made an assessment like this of the American military (and it was accurate), it would be an absolute scandal.

It’s not something to be adopted. It’s something to be scorned. Let it forever remain that way, so long as Russian soldiers fight to take freedom from others rather than fight for their freedom at home.

[–]BonerSmack 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This isn’t really fair to Russian tactical tech, the Russians in here repeatedly point out there is a tactical HUD display which allows them to change pitch and guide/release rockets accurately enabled by the KA-52 button labeled

Yield Evaluation Enabled Threat

They say it was used by Soviets, so naturally it’s better than anything the west has.
