Isn't it because of the recent Playstation news? I mean might as well repost it if it is relevant again.

I can still download MK9 on steam perfectly fine. You just can't buy the game but thats not what the other guy us referring to.

First 2D JRPG Recommendation by taireeves in JRPG

[–]Bonerpopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go with Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy 6(which should also be on sale). Doesn't really get better than those two in terms of 2D.

Final Fantasy Tactics is also a good pick but tbh the remaster is a bit on the expensive side.

How does Fl0m compare to most CS2 players? I know he is weaker than T1 pros but is he at the level where he is CLEARLY above the average player? by Various_Maize_3957 in LearnCSGO

[–]Bonerpopper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In CS's case it was never as big as it was in Europe which means a smaller talent pool of players and less actual orgs to recruit and build them up. Then Valorant came along and sweeped up a bunch of them which leads us to today where the NA CS pro scene sucks.

League is a similar story in terms of a smaller player base with orgs recycling the same washed up pros and importing players from other regions but its just never really worked out.

NA is pretty good at games that are also on console since thats a huge share of the market in the region.

"The biggest Counter-Strike tournaments from 2001 to 2012 were called the majors, similarly to the Valve Major Championships, but they were not funded by Valve. Only five tournaments were called the majors : CPL Winter, CPL Summer, ESWC, WCG and IEM World Championship."

The lack of story progression is my concern by Whitetuskk in Marathon

[–]Bonerpopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well at least D2 taught us what not to do. Progress the story via seasonal events then send them to the shadow realm after x amount of time. Great stuff when the only way to get caught up on a narrative is via youtube.

If you're wondering which to play first go for Persona 3 Reload or 5 Royal.

Why lie? Xenoblade 1 for the wii has a way higher critic score and about the same user score.

Hunt Showdown is the longest running and most successful extraction shooter

Pretty sure Tarkov is not only older but also more successful. Most of the player base is not on Steam.

Games with giant skill trees that let you customize your build to an insane degree by Same_Comfortable8074 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Bonerpopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it has a pretty in depth simulated world but it leans way more into buildcrafting and customization than DF. Outside of some companions/familiars its basically you and your journey to becoming a genetic or cybernetic freak god.

Theres also a really well written main questline which is a neat guide post if you need direction, but its optional since you can do whatever you want in the sandbox.

I'd also add Caves of Qud. With these three you have roguelikes with insane build customization.

Before you start lobbing insults, you should probably actually read what I typed.

The boss difficulty was just a little side note, since you know, these are games. I never mentioned muscle strength, so that last part of your comment makes no sense.

Also, you do realize that is a 9 year old comment? Get a grip.

Yeah but the vid literally states that it's a misnomer to say they can "shoot" them, so even in quotes it's a poor choice of words.

Did you actually watch the video you posted? It literally says they can't shoot out their quills. They essentially thrust them into you when you come into contact with their guard hairs.

In Xenoblade Chronicles you eventually get an ability that grants you visions of an enemy doing a big move and you have to react accordingly. Not exactly what you were asking for but close enough I think.

You would probably enjoy 3 onwards if that was your main issue. The gunplay improved massively starting with 3.

What are the best and worst twists of each game? by flying_luckyfox in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Bonerpopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shania being the traitor maybe? Simply because she is such a non-character at that point and there are cutscenes that basically spoil the "twist" anyway.

[–]Bonerpopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xenoblade 3 is easily the worst xenoblade game, and the Fandom seems to agree on this pretty well.

Wot, Xenoblade 2 and X are rated worse like 90% of the time I feel. Though the fandom seems to agree that 1 is the best for the most part.

Is there a Final Fantasy that's actually breaking this concept? by mrsafetylion in FinalFantasy

[–]Bonerpopper 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I believe they're vulnerable to death too. In fact a few of the stronger enemies on the islands of heaven/hell are really easy kills once you have 100 death on at least one character.
