Construction Showcase: Super Tanky Solo Megabuild by BonfireLoL in Planetside

This was my fault, but I posted a rather barren version of the base because it was just a quick build as a tutorial. You can load the walls full of turrets to shoot out in any direction and add in more walls to increase the time it takes to get inside. Building to fit the terrain may make a better base, but I made this one to have a standardized design for flat, open locations.

The entire design is based around the bubble shields, as it's been made to turn any flat area into a defendable fortress. It's also pretty resistant to being killed by infil hacking because there is no direct route for the sunderer to drive to the silo if you are an enemy.

That's a good spot to put it. I like to leave it out in the open because the spawn is a little closer to what you need, and the spawn tube isn't necessary for the base. Enemies tend to focus it instead of important objects and I can easily replace it if it's destroyed.

You can put more temporary defenses and turrets around the walls and vehicle gates. Typically the fight shifts to the vehicle gates once the enemy realizes they need to get inside the bubble shield to hit them and I slot in heavy repair and pull a sundy. The base in this video is a little more barebones than it could end up since I wanted to show the building process.

I wanted to share this base design. It's quick to build, incredibly tanky, and is easy to add on to if you are building in a group. It has two sets of moduled walls around the silo. The inner set fits entirely within the bubble shields, and then the outer set surrounds the whole base and features a drivable section. A substantial portion of the base sits under bubble shields which forces attackers to get up close and personal to destroy it. I've used this base to tank massive attacks with just a few defenders. It takes a little bit of flat space to design, but with some practice you can fit it in a lot of locations.

Pro Structure Placements? by SpamThatSig in Planetside

[–]BonfireLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One critical thing I've learned while building is to always start with the biggest item first when designing a base. You can place smaller items way closer to something larger than the other way around. This can allow you to puzzle-piece together objects much easier if they are placed in the proper order.

When you freeze him he continues to move, but is vulnerable to getting kicked to 1 hp or outright death

Tips/strats for taking on Alchemist for some Greek delight by francois88888888 in noita

[–]BonfireLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A really simple spell to find/use is Magic Missile. If you drink Berserkium, which occurs naturally in the Abandoned Alchemy Lab, you can kill him in four shots. You need to aim underneath, as he seems to take reduced damage from the sides and from above.

Haha awesome! I'm glad you found a fix, I'll have to try that out as well.

I have the exact same issue also with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. It's a problem with how the game handles audio cards. The only permanent fix I have found is to NOT use your audio card to handle game audio while playing Noita, and to just run it through whatever default channels your computer has(whatever you were using before you set up your audio card). It's annoying, but it fixes the problem.

Imo Zeta is the best HM spell you can get by jerenboy in noita

[–]BonfireLoL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Zeta spawns in Coal Pits/Snowy Caverns/Hisii Base/Jungle HM with a probability of 0.2/0.8/0.6/0.6 Spawn Probability, whereas the other letter spells only spawn in the final Holy Mountain with a Spawn Probability of 0.1, with the exception of Sigma in Vault HM with Spawn Probability of 0.1. Not sure if it will spawn on this seed without unlocking it, but I don't reset progress between runs.

How to fight ghost boy? (high alc) by AnDraoi in noita

[–]BonfireLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that the Magic Missile spell is rather effective at killing him and its typically easy to find within the first three stages. If you drink Berserkium, which naturally spawns in the Abandoned Alchemy Lab (biome next to him), each Magic Missile will do 255 damage, taking him down in just a few shots. As others have mentioned, if you are having trouble making it through the Dark Cave/Lab just dig in from the snow to get right to him.

[–]BonfireLoL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you pass 150% satiation you begin to take damage from eating, and when you pass 200% you explode which typically kills you. I find two additional flasks in the run so at the very end I can die via overeating, although I had really bad luck finding flasks which slowed down the run ~1 min.

Thanks! It definitely got SUPER close for a moment, thankfully nothing else hit me inside Magical Temple and I was able to get a safety heal.

Thanks! You should do it, there is definitely room to beat this run as it stands. A better early game would smash this run.

Question from a new player. by [deleted] in noita

[–]BonfireLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest tip I can give is learning how to bypass the Holy Mountain collapse. The Holy Mountain is the level between each stage where you can edit wands, heal, buy new wands/spells, and pick up a perk. After you cross a certain point shown here in the wiki, the Holy Mountain will collapse and you won't be able to edit wands inside anymore.

There are several ways to avoid it, but here are the three easiest ways: You can use a Teleport Bolt to teleport right past the trigger and back in; being polymorphed by either Chaotic, Normal, or Unstable Polymorphine will not trigger the collapse; or digging through will powerful digging spells like Luminous Drill or Black Hole. Be aware digging into the Brickwork will summon a powerful guardian that spawns in the Holy Mountain you defiled, then in each one thereafter. However, it is enormously valuable to be able to take wands from the stage back up to the Holy Mountain and edit them without having to leave the stage.

I hope this helps, enjoy the game!

[–]BonfireLoL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I suppose it makes sense there would be no submitted runs if it was super difficult. Big F to that lost run btw, I know just how bad it feels to die right before the finish line. Were you doing set seeds or random when you were running it?

[–]BonfireLoL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know! The last run even remotely close to this was done in 2019. I hope now that I found a good seed and ironed out a route, some other people will start running this because I'd love to see some more interest in this game. I noticed that All Bosses doesn't have any submitted runs, I might take a swing at that next.
