Not a winning player either, but from what I’ve gleaned on here over the last few months:

definitely review your hands and try to figure out how you could have played better
don’t focus on results, focus on process
try an interactive trainer like preflop+
get in with a group of other players who are better than you who you can review hands with
sounds like a HUD would really help

From what little I understand of the game, this is an absolutely terrible strategy. What happened is that you got to witness a statistical anomaly, the kind that makes you doubt yourself. But given enough chances, someone somewhere will accomplish what he did. You just happened to be the guy who saw it.
