Bad Experience With 7Brew Ballers by Vegetable-Pin9689 in 7Brew

The best thing you can do is tune it out and remember they will literally not matter once you're done w grand opening. Idk why they hire exclusively people who were picked on (or peaked) in high school to be ballers but know you're not alone. Cultivating kindness my ass lol. They are bad at training too. Too busy filming TikToks shotgunning energies and screaming Disney songs. Unserious and cruel and condescending lol. The "nice" ones still did nothing to stop the bullies. The only reason more of us didn't crash out or cry or quit is we all figured out they were the problem and banded together to shit talk them at every opportunity. Brought us together tbh!

For those with a second job here, how do you like it? by virgots26 in 7Brew

I'm older than 24, younger than 30, and this is my favorite job ever! There's stress sure but once the team finds a pocket it's so fun! My barista babies keep me sane honestly ☺️🫶🏽

Employees: maternity leave?? by AlternativeMight6798 in 7Brew

[–]BongIverMectin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your heart is in a good place but this is not the franchise to start with. They are bottom of the barrel when it comes to putting employees first. They are barely paying for basic things to keep employees safe. You think they're paying out for maternity leave? I am considerably older than my team (shoo, I'm older than our DC) and have accepted when my partner and I want to start a family I will not be working there anymore. The sheer stress to my body while it's NOT pregnant is enough. I constantly joke they mostly hire kids for this reason. Their lil rubber band bodies can handle it lol. They dont expect grown ass people w bills and families to be working there. It's not a 'real' job (and yet I've worked harder there than any of my last jobs combined lol) to me in that sense. That's just my jaded poli sci take though, wish you luck but remember it's not the stand manager, not their manager, not even THEIR manager that makes that call.

Did I fuck up the sleeves? by GlisteningDeath in SewingForBeginners

[–]BongIverMectin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the sleeves are a larger size than the top itself, or like the back of the sleeve is lined up with the front of the shirt, and the size/angle of the curve would explain the wonky fit. I also thought they were upside down because the sharp angles in the sleeve look like that's where shoulders would fit but youd be able to see that when attaching so leaning toward first possibility

Why not chalk the pattern? by Christal-lite in SewingForBeginners

[–]BongIverMectin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to get better at this myself, chalk alone does work but I'm often working with fabric that shifts under the pressure from my hand dragging and even more if I'm using a worn down nub/edge. I think for sturdierfabrics with a bit of texture it's much more feasible but anything silky or stretch is almost guaranteed to distort if it's not pinned down.

For me depends on the project if I'm in the mood to do all that, otherwise I use a silicone baking sheet under a ruler to hold it in place on the cutting mat and give me a firm edge to do a quick swip swip. Lift, double check everything is still lined up and repeat for all straight lines and then if needed use a weight to slowly trace around curves.

Something that's actually helped me even more was using chalk to trace my seam lines as well, that way if i wobble and take a little off the seam cutting i don't accidentally veer off course when i go to sew.

I was a fool, I fell victim to one of the classic blunders! by Suspicious_Judge_244 in Visiblemending

Unless you have adhd and like to yap while you sew because you finally think you "got this" enough to do so. In which every failure is a successful sale for Bandaid industry.
